Pip or Nell for Penelope?

[name]Penelope[/name] [name]Celeste[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is our top contender (thanks Berries for helping me decide!) My sister’s name is [name]Penny[/name], so I want to call her either [name]Penelope[/name] or a nn that is NOT [name]Penny[/name].

[name]Do[/name] you prefer [name]Nell[/name] or [name]Pip[/name]?

I like [name]Nell[/name] better than [name]Pip[/name].

I prefer [name]Nell[/name], but I also think you could just wait and let a nickname emerge naturally rather than deciding ahead of time. The best choice is probably the one that you find yourself saying without thinking.

[name]Penelope[/name] is a lovely choice!

[name]Love[/name] [name]Nell[/name]!

[name]Nell[/name] is nicer to me. Or even [name]Lola[/name] would work.

Aww, they’re both really cute! [name]Pip[/name] is a bit more masculine, though (Great Expectations). [name]Pip[/name] would be really cute for a baby girl, but wouldn’t age so well as a nickname, I think - whereas [name]Nell[/name] would grow with her really well. But no need to decide the nickname now, right? Wait and see what suits her!

[name]Nell[/name] for sure! [name]Nell[/name] is a strong enough name to stand on its own. For me, [name]Pip[/name] is a nn for [name]Philip[/name] as in the [name]Charles[/name] Dickens’ novel “Great Expectations”. There is also a [name]Pip[/name]-Boy video game.

I actually like both equally, but they have different feels. [name]Pip[/name] is more spunky and tomboyish to me and [name]Nell[/name] is more sweet and girly.

What about [name]Poppy[/name]?

[name]Nell[/name] is beautiful.
Lo is fun too, but a little insubstantial.
I agree with Palejewel about [name]Pip[/name].

My first instinct was to choose [name]Pip[/name], because I love how spunky it sounds, but I agree with others that [name]Nell[/name] definitely ages better and sounds more feminine.

agree with this

[name]LOVE[/name] the nn [name]Nell[/name] for [name]Penelope[/name]. It’s a top name for us too. I think it’s beautiful. I would reserve the pip nn for at home. Best of both worlds

[name]Nell[/name] is my favorite. [name]Pip[/name] reminds me of pipsqueak.

Nicknames for [name]Penelope[/name]:

[name]Penny[/name] / [name]Poppy[/name] / [name]Pip[/name]
[name]Nell[/name] / [name]Nelli[/name]
[name]Elle[/name] / [name]Eli[/name] / Elo
[name]Lou[/name]

I prefer [name]Pip[/name] to [name]Nell[/name]. [name]Pip[/name] has more spice than [name]Nell[/name], which means zero in my country.

[name]Nell[/name] reminds me of shrapnel.

I like [name]Poppy[/name] as a nn

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Pip[/name]! Its so cute and quirky. Though I do prefer this nickname with the name [name]Pippa[/name], but I think [name]Penelope[/name] would work just fine with it.
What about [name]Poppy[/name]? I do love the nickname [name]Poppy[/name] with [name]Penelope[/name] too.

[name]Nel[/name] for sure
