[name]Penelope[/name] [name]Celeste[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is our top contender (thanks Berries for helping me decide!) My sister’s name is [name]Penny[/name], so I want to call her either [name]Penelope[/name] or a nn that is NOT [name]Penny[/name].
[name]Do[/name] you prefer [name]Nell[/name] or [name]Pip[/name]?
I prefer [name]Nell[/name], but I also think you could just wait and let a nickname emerge naturally rather than deciding ahead of time. The best choice is probably the one that you find yourself saying without thinking.
Aww, they’re both really cute! [name]Pip[/name] is a bit more masculine, though (Great Expectations). [name]Pip[/name] would be really cute for a baby girl, but wouldn’t age so well as a nickname, I think - whereas [name]Nell[/name] would grow with her really well. But no need to decide the nickname now, right? Wait and see what suits her!
[name]Nell[/name] for sure! [name]Nell[/name] is a strong enough name to stand on its own. For me, [name]Pip[/name] is a nn for [name]Philip[/name] as in the [name]Charles[/name] Dickens’ novel “Great Expectations”. There is also a [name]Pip[/name]-Boy video game.
I actually like both equally, but they have different feels. [name]Pip[/name] is more spunky and tomboyish to me and [name]Nell[/name] is more sweet and girly.
My first instinct was to choose [name]Pip[/name], because I love how spunky it sounds, but I agree with others that [name]Nell[/name] definitely ages better and sounds more feminine.
[name]LOVE[/name] the nn [name]Nell[/name] for [name]Penelope[/name]. It’s a top name for us too. I think it’s beautiful. I would reserve the pip nn for at home. Best of both worlds
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Pip[/name]! Its so cute and quirky. Though I do prefer this nickname with the name [name]Pippa[/name], but I think [name]Penelope[/name] would work just fine with it.
What about [name]Poppy[/name]? I do love the nickname [name]Poppy[/name] with [name]Penelope[/name] too.
