I have always secretly loved the name [name]Panama[/name]. Place names are popular. I’ve heard [name]Asia[/name], [name]China[/name], [name]Kenya[/name], [name]Dallas[/name], Auatin, [name]Jackson[/name], & [name]Juno[/name] a lot more lately. Is [name]Panama[/name] an option now or is it still too wild to be taken seriously? Also is [name]Pan[/name] or [name]Pam[/name] a better nn?
Hmm. It just seems so closely tied to the canal and the hat. There’s nothing wrong with that, exactly, it just seems…different. [name]Austin[/name], [name]Jackson[/name], and [name]Juno[/name] have additional etymologies besides the place btw (the others probably do too, maybe even [name]Panama[/name], they’re just more obvious. [name]Austin[/name] from [name]Augustin[/name], [name]Jackson[/name] as a surname, [name]Juno[/name] is a Greek mythological name, sort of different from [name]Juneau[/name]).
Anyway, if you go with it, I think I like [name]Pan[/name] in a lot of ways. [name]Pan[/name] is a cool (if troublesome) mythological figure, there’s [name]Peter[/name] [name]Pan[/name], Spanish for bread, lots of positives, plus [name]Pam[/name] is just a little dated (but sweet). Although [name]Pan[/name] also makes me think of frying pan, which is awkward.
[name]Do[/name] you like [name]Pandora[/name]?
I tend to like a lot of place names. I’m not as taken with [name]Panama[/name], but I do like “[name]Havana[/name]” which I think has a similar feeling.
Thanks for your insight. & btw I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Pandora[/name]!!! I never would have thought of it before but I do think it is cuteness.
I also like [name]Havana[/name] and [name]Pandora[/name] better, and [name]Pan[/name] better than [name]Pam[/name].
My bosses beautiful border collie is named [name]Panama[/name], a cool name, he was named that because my boss lived in [name]Panama[/name] for a year after finishing university and fell in love with the place. NN’s are tricky, maybe [name]Anna[/name] could work for pANAma? Seems like a bit of a stretch. Or maybe just [name]Pana[/name]? Seems a bit fresher than [name]Pam[/name] or [name]Pan[/name].
I like [name]Pana[/name] but not as much as [name]Pan[/name] or [name]Pam[/name].
