[name]Hi[/name]!
[name]Just[/name] found out a couple of weeks back that im expecting twin girls, so ive been looking for names and can’t really make up my mind.
I have pretty bold choices because i love place names that stand out. i also have a son named [name]Santiago[/name] [name]Milan[/name], idk maybe it could help…
so far i have…
[name]California[/name] [name]Meadow[/name] (im thinking ‘[name]Cali[/name]’ could be a cute nickname…thats just me…)
[name]Valencia[/name]
[name]Indio[/name]
[name]India[/name]
[name]Milana[/name] (no good for you because of your sons name!)
[name]Roma[/name]
[name]Ailsa[/name]
[name]Geneva[/name]
[name]Odessa[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Egypt[/name]
[name]Aspen[/name]
[name]Camden[/name]
[name]Catalina[/name]
[name]Vienna[/name]
[name]Holland[/name]
[name]Ireland[/name]
[name]Havana[/name]
[name]Odessa[/name]
[name]London[/name]
[name]Kenya[/name]
[name]Samara[/name]
[name]Sahara[/name]
[name]Romany[/name]
[name]Verona[/name]
[name]Quintana[/name]
[name]Olympia[/name]
[name]Rio[/name]
[name]Marbella[/name]
[name]Sicily[/name]
[name]Sienna[/name]
[name]Sydney[/name]
I think the following would make good names for twins:
[name]Ailsa[/name] and [name]Camden[/name]
[name]Sicily[/name] and [name]Valencia[/name]
[name]Verona[/name] and [name]Samara[/name]
[name]Holland[/name] and [name]Romany[/name]
My real name is a place name, personally I’ve never been in love with it. My mother had never been to the place, nor did either of my parents have a connection there. There’s no real history to my name. I.e. there are no historical figures I share my name with that I can be proud of.
So, other than liking the sound, are there any reasons you chose those places?
That being said, I think other places lend themselves to names better than [name]Barcelona[/name] and [name]Argentina[/name].
Pretty place names
[name]Acadia[/name]
[name]Geneva[/name]
[name]Ravenna[/name]
[name]Roma[/name]
[name]Vienna[/name]
And many names are place names, but we do think of them as such.
E.g.
[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Carmen[/name] (comes from [name]Carmel[/name])
[name]Bethany[/name]
[name]Chelsea[/name]
[name]Kimberley[/name]
[name]Lindsey[/name]
well im actually from [name]California[/name],which i love and i was not born there but i grew up in [name]Carmel[/name]![name]Barcelona[/name] i like because i studied there for a while and also [name]Argentina[/name] i just fell in love with the cultures and names.
i love [name]Sicily[/name] and [name]Valencia[/name]
also [name]Holland[/name] and [name]Romany[/name]!
how about [name]Sicily[/name] [name]Carmel[/name]
and [name]Holland[/name] [name]Valencia[/name]?
Aww I’m so glad you like some of the suggestions I think [name]Sicily[/name] [name]Carmel[/name] is beautiful and it’s great that it has personal meaning for you! [name]Holland[/name] [name]Valencia[/name] is adorable too, as would be [name]Valencia[/name] [name]Holland[/name], but do you have another place name with as much personal meaning to you as [name]Carmel[/name] that perhaps you could put in the middle slot so the other twin doesn’t feel left out? Maybe the place you were born? Or a place in or near [name]Barcelona[/name] you visited because [name]Barcelona[/name] itself seems a little harsh to me for a girls name.
oo i do like [name]Catalina[/name] and [name]Vienna[/name]!
but i love [name]Sicily[/name] [name]Carmel[/name] and [name]Holland[/name] [name]Valencia[/name] because [name]Valencia[/name] is also a city i got to visit in Spain so it has a special meaning for me
but i am also thinking of Espa”a?
maybe [name]Holland[/name] Espa”a?
or [name]Sicily[/name] Espa”a and [name]Holland[/name] [name]Carmel[/name]?
I think [name]Vienna[/name] is a really pretty, classic sounding girl’s name
However you want something a bit more dramatic.
If you are naming one twin [name]California[/name] – how about another state name? (or is that too “cutesy”)
[name]Virginia[/name] (ginny, gina), [name]Nevada[/name] (nev or nevi), [name]Louisiana[/name] (ana, louise, lou), [name]Arizona[/name], [name]Florida[/name] (florie), [name]Carolina[/name] (cara)
I think you can get away with two place names if they’re not too-too cutesy and obvious ([name]London[/name] and [name]Paris[/name]: no). But four? Sorry, I think that’s over the line. I love the idea of making the names compatible via places that have meaning for you but I think you need to be just a little more subtle by either choosing middle names that aren’t place names or giving one twin a place name as a first and the other a place name in the middle.
[name]Holland[/name] and [name]Romy[/name] work because [name]Romy[/name] is a bit more subtle as a place name, in my opinion.
I don’t find it too cutesy I actually like it.
I love the name [name]California[/name] but if i did name one that i would name the other [name]Barcelona[/name] for both of them to have names that completely stand out.
I’m loving [name]Sicily[/name] [name]Carmel[/name] right now but my husband thinks [name]Sicilly[/name] and [name]Carmel[/name] together is too sweet idk why, I love it. As i said before I like Espa”a and he actually does too so what about
[name]Sicily[/name] [name]Barcelona[/name]
[name]Sicily[/name] Espa”a
I’d love to name the other [name]Valencia[/name] [name]California[/name] but that is actually a city in [name]California[/name] so i don’t want to be that dramatic.
I like
[name]Holland[/name] [name]California[/name]
[name]Harlow[/name] [name]California[/name]
[name]Holland[/name] [name]Odette[/name]
[name]Holland[/name] [name]Camilla[/name]
[name]Holland[/name] [name]Carmel[/name]
I’m trying to keep [name]Sicily[/name] & [name]Holland[/name] as first names because my husband and i agree on these (but I’m open to suggestions). Though I would switch it for [name]California[/name] & [name]Barcelona[/name] but my husband prefers a mild first name lol.
We had the name [name]Cambria[/name] on our list, which is a [name]California[/name] coastal town we have visited. (It’s also a city in [name]England[/name].) [name]Cambria[/name] and [name]Sicily[/name] are nice together. [name]Both[/name] are 3 syllables with the accent on the first syllable.
Hmm I’m not keen on Espana. I think I’d prefer [name]Sicily[/name] [name]Carmel[/name] and [name]Holland[/name] [name]Valencia[/name]. Especially if both places do have meaning for you. [name]Valencia[/name] was on my long list of names also just because I think it sounds so beautiful. I’ve been to Spain a number of times but never [name]Valencia[/name]. One place I’ve been in Spain with a pretty sound, similar to [name]Carmel[/name], is Calella - pronounced cal-AY-uh.
Best of luck! And have you considered what [name]Pam[/name] said about 4 place names maybe being too much, especially if they’re all “obvious” place names? [name]How[/name] about more subtle first names like [name]Carmel[/name] and [name]Valencia[/name]/[name]Romy[/name]/[name]Ailsa[/name]/[name]Odessa[/name]/[name]Samara[/name]/[name]Sienna[/name] with the more “obvious” place names like [name]Holland[/name], [name]California[/name], Espana, [name]Vienna[/name] and [name]Sicily[/name] in the middle spots?
I like:
[name]Carmel[/name] [name]Sicily[/name] and [name]Sienna[/name] [name]Holland[/name]
[name]Carmel[/name] [name]Sicily[/name] and [name]Valencia[/name] [name]Holland[/name]
[name]Carmel[/name] [name]Vienna[/name] and [name]Romy[/name] [name]Valencia[/name] (2 V middle names)
[name]Ailsa[/name] [name]Carmel[/name] and [name]Romy[/name] [name]Valencia[/name]
[name]Odessa[/name] [name]Carmel[/name] and [name]Valencia[/name] [name]Calla[/name] (maybe a subtle way at honouring [name]California[/name]? And two C middle names)
