So I’m writing a story in which the main character has the nickname [name_u]Rory[/name_u]. Their name cannot be [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]. That’s kinda how the plot kicks off, with another character thinking that [name_u]Rory[/name_u] is named [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and dragging her into this magic world believing she’s meant to be part of it.
Rory’s surname is [name_u]Alden[/name_u], and her middle name is undecided. The story is set in the UK, or the start of it is.
Here’s a few that I think you could use.
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]
Lorianna
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
You could also have her first and middle name start with an R. Like [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u] or something like that and then give her [name_u]Rory[/name_u] as a nickname.
[name_u]Rory[/name_u] used to be considered a nn for Roderick; but it also could be an anglicized form of Ruadh/Ruaidh in Gaelic. It means redhaired so if your character has auburn or red hair, [name_u]Rory[/name_u] could just be the nn for that.
Lorelei is the classic!
There’s also…
Ramona
Rosemary
Rose
Roberta
Laura
Some of these might be a stretch but how about:
Rosemarie
Romilly
Romina
Roisin
Rosario
Rowena
Rowan
Roxanne
Sharona
Verona
Veronica
Florence
Torrance
Oriana
Orielle
Oriel
Lorena
Lorna
Lorraine
Aurelie
Maureen
Mallory
i’ve heard dorothy ‘rory’ before!
I’ve seen [name_f]Gloria[/name_f] “Rory” mentioned on here recently
[name_f]Aphrodite[/name_f] nn [name_u]Rory[/name_u]?
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the suggestion of [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]. Also maybe [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] nn [name_u]Rory[/name_u]?
