Please be honest!

I have always loved the name Molly, but does it work if her last name would be O’Malley?
First name: Molly
Middle Name: Rose
Last Name: O’Malley

Please be honest with your thoughts of Molly O’Malley!

I think it’s too similar

Hmmm bit too similar for me! But if you love it it’s not terrible, no bad connotations etc

Molly is lovely

Have thought about [name_u]Holly[/name_u]?

I’m generally a fan of alliteration, but [name_f]Molly[/name_f] O’[name_f]Malley[/name_f] is too much for me.

How about [name_f]Polly[/name_f], [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], [name_f]Mamie[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]… ?

It feels a bit much to me if I’m totally honest

To be honest, it’s not great. It’s almost the same sound so it comes across as silly.

They’re too similar to me I’m sorry to say…

I don’t think I would use it personally. It sounds kind of silly to me, like a cartoon character.

Molly and [name_f]Malley[/name_f] are basically the same word, too similar I’m afraid.

I think the names are very similar but together they make a completely adorable name.
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] O’[name_f]Malley[/name_f] is so fun.
If you are open to a hyphenated name, I think [name_f]Molly[/name_f]-[name_f]Rose[/name_f] O’[name_f]Malley[/name_f] is fantastic too.

Oh, that’s a toughy! On one hand, I do think [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and O’[name_f]Malley[/name_f] are too similar… but on the other, [name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] O’[name_f]Malley[/name_f] sound so incredibly sweet! Maybe a hyphen so she is always [name_f]Molly[/name_f]-[name_f]Rose[/name_f]? It would break the alliteration a bit.

I think it’s a bit too much. What about [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]?

I think it’s too similar. Maybe [name_f]Mina[/name_f] or [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

[name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is so sweet, but I really do think that [name_f]Molly[/name_f] O’[name_f]Malley[/name_f] is too repetitive. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] or [name_f]Maisy[/name_f]?

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

It’s a very sweet name, but I think that the alliteration might sound juvenile as she grows older.

Yup! This is exactly what I was thinking. Honestly, I’m not sure if I’d say you should go for it or not… On the one hand, yes, the names are extremely similar and might seem like a bit much together. But, on the other, [name_f]Molly[/name_f] O’[name_f]Malley[/name_f] is actually pretty adorable, imo.

I’m going to say for sure that if you love [name_f]Molly[/name_f] more than any other name, then you should definitely use it, regardless of the similar-sounding surname. It’s really not that big of a deal. (After all, that may not be her surname forever anyway.)

It’s too similar for me. I agree with @may.rose that it sounds like a silly cartoon character.
