[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone - I was just suggested this website to get some help for my baby name dilemma.
I am pregnant with my first child, a baby girl due [name_f]September[/name_f] 12th (or sooner) and I have no name yet! [name_f]Every[/name_f] name I’ve run into liking has had a problem with!
I considered [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] for the longest time and when I found out I was having a girl, my wife and I thought this name was the one! But it’s growing in popularity, especially where I am. There’s already been two newborns among my friends named [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]!
I’m a ballet fan, especially a [name_f]Swan[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u] fan, so I’ve been super considering [name_f]Odette[/name_f] because I absolutely love the name and it’s origin. What do you guys think?
I love names that give off a 1800s vibe. Have no idea why, but that’s just where my taste has been since day one! [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] is also one of my favorites, but I’m not sure about it for a first name.
Also I am completely clueless for a middle name! I would like a middle name that flows well and still goes with my vintage taste but, beyond that I have no idea what to do for a middle.
If any of you name enthusiasts could help me out and offer your opinions and suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it! I’m new here so I apologize if I don’t quite know how to use this site yet.
[name_f]Florence[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]?? I don’t know how you feel about [name_f]Florence[/name_f], but I love it. I also love [name_f]Flora[/name_f]. It’s very feminine, but fun.
If you like [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] have you considered [name_f]Odelia[/name_f]? I think [name_f]Odette[/name_f] is lovely!
You seem to be smitten with O’s and the ending -[name_f]Lia[/name_f]
Here’s some names that come to mind when I think of the above choices, they might hit or miss your personal mark for a first or middle…
I think [name_f]Odette[/name_f] is simply beautiful! I also love [name_f]Apollonia[/name_f]'s suggestion of [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. It is gorgeous!
I also love [name_f]Odelia[/name_f] as an alternative.
I don’t think you could go wrong with [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] — I’d also suggest [name_f]Odessa[/name_f] as a possibility. (It shows up in a lot of old cemeteries, which I highly recommend for name-searching!)
I think you’re right that [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] has the potential to become popular, and it is on the rise, but 2015 is the first year it showed up in the U.S. Top 1,000 girls names (Rank #975) since the 1950s. So it may not matter if it’s already been used among your friends, but by any overall standards it’s still a very rare name.
I also love the suggestions of [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] & [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]. [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is beautiful as well. And I love [name_f]Florence[/name_f]! So many great suggestions:-)
[name_f]Odette[/name_f] is really pretty and personally I like it better than [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]. Not super fussed on [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] but think it could work nicely as a middle name.
The first two names that I thought of was [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] and [name_f]Giselle[/name_f]. [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] also seems to fit your preferences. Good luck!

I love the [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] suggestion! It’s super lovely and makes me love [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] for the first name spot.
I also love the [name_f]Odessa[/name_f] suggestion! Has such a nice feeling to it.
I know some of you have mentioned [name_f]Odelia[/name_f], but I won’t use it because of how similar to [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] it is. Any [name_f]Rose[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosa[/name_f] names are out for me too (my mom’s name is [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and I’m not one for giving your kids family member names) but I appreciate the suggestions anyhow!

So as of right now, my three finalists for first names are: [name_f]Odette[/name_f], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], and [name_f]Odessa[/name_f]! However I’m still sorta stuck with middle names so please keep the suggestions coming!! I will probably do a poll on here (cause I found out you can do that cool!) at some point once I get down to some final combos.
