Please help Berries

I’m new to nameberry and am here by the advice of a friend [name]Milly[/name] aka emilymaryjane. I have a massive trouble that apparently only you lot can sort out.
Me and my partner have very different styles I have a [name]Persephone[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Rose[/name] “Persey” and he has twins named [name]Rhylee[/name] [name]Isabella[/name] and Emmersyn [name]Maree[/name]. We are expecting another one. My favourite girls name is [name]Imogen[/name] and his is [name]Luca[/name]. Can you please help berries.

I responded to your post in the boys forum. Hopefully I will be of some help. Again, if you are unable to budge either way for your top choices, compromising with a new choice might be something to consider. Somewhere between unusual/classic and trendy (seems like he likes gender bending/unisex for girls too) is what I’ll be shooting for:

[name]Jocelyn[/name] nn [name]Joss[/name] - A beautiful classic that started out as a male name (not that it would thought of a gender neutral or masculine today) and has a route to a tomboyish nickname, [name]Joss[/name]. Might be a contender.

[name]Sidonia[/name] nn [name]Sid[/name]
[name]Adrienne[/name]
[name]Noelle[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name] nn [name]Rory[/name]
[name]Keira[/name]
[name]Cordelia[/name] nn [name]Cord[/name]/[name]Cori[/name]/[name]Del[/name]
[name]Brynn[/name]
[name]Sybil[/name] nn [name]Billie[/name]
[name]Katarina[/name] nn [name]Kat[/name]

[name]Leila[/name] - I like the sound of it with your girls names. It is a traditional name with a trendy sound. Could be appealing.

Are any of these appealing?

Wow, that is tough when you have different naming styles. I really like teacherma’s suggestions, especially [name]Jocelyn[/name] nn [name]Joss[/name], [name]Aurora[/name] nn [name]Rory[/name] and [name]Katarina[/name] nn [name]Kat[/name].
Others y’all might like are:
[name]Alexandria[/name] nn [name]Alex[/name]
[name]Valentina[/name] nn [name]Valen[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name] nn [name]Mattie[/name]

[name]How[/name] about:

[name]Isobel[/name]
[name]Lucia[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Margot[/name]

Names that tie together your daughter and step daughters names…
[name]Persephone[/name], [name]Rhylee[/name], Emmersyn, and
[name]Zoe[/name]
[name]Carys[/name]
[name]Cleo[/name]
[name]Cassandra[/name] nn [name]Cassie[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]
[name]Juno[/name]
[name]Theodora[/name] nn [name]Thea[/name]
[name]Madeline[/name]
[name]Luna[/name]

If you can’t compromise, you might need to choose a new name. What about [name]Sawyer[/name], [name]Anneliese[/name], or [name]Phoebe[/name]? I love the suggestion of [name]Aurora[/name] nn [name]Rory[/name].

That’s tough. I love [name]Imogen[/name], but feel it’s a bit close to Emmersyn (especially if she goes by [name]Emmy[/name]… [name]Imogen[/name] is likely to get [name]Immy[/name]). [name]Lucia[/name] or [name]Lucy[/name] seem like reasonable suggestion. He’s going to need to meet you halfway with a decent spelling and at least a recognizably feminine name. These are just some names from the top of the head that maybe neither of you will hate? It sounds like it’s going to be tough to find something you equally love, so maybe it’s finding a long name that one of you likes more, and nn that the other is happy with? Sorry if this isn’t helpful.

[name]Juniper[/name]
[name]Clover[/name]
[name]Annora[/name]/[name]Honora[/name] ([name]Annie[/name], [name]Nora[/name])
[name]Arden[/name]
[name]Margaret[/name] ([name]Margo[/name], [name]Maggie[/name], [name]Meg[/name])
[name]Mazarine[/name] (I love this for nn Mazzy)

I think cleo has the cool nearly unisex vibe your partner likes yet the history and romance you like.

I realise I probably should have said this before but [name]Lucy[/name] names are out as my sister is [name]Lucille[/name] nicknamed [name]Lulu[/name]. Sorry. And my name is [name]Cassi[/name] so no [name]Cassandra[/name].

I absolutely adore [name]Juniper[/name], [name]Margaret[/name], [name]Aurora[/name] “[name]Rory[/name]”, [name]Clover[/name], [name]Sawyer[/name], [name]Cleo[/name], Anneleise, [name]Matilda[/name] and [name]Jocelyn[/name].

Would [name]Cleo[/name] work as a nickname for [name]Clover[/name] so she has a more feminine first name like Persey?

[name]Milly[/name] was right when she said I would get heaps of help here. I will talk to SO tonight and see what he thinks

[name]Cleopatra[/name] or clementine would work for cleo…bit of a stretch for clover but you make the rules!

What about [name]Willa[/name]? It’s romantic but sounds a lot like [name]Willow[/name] which is more trendy like your step-daughters names.

So SO loves [name]Sawyer[/name] and [name]Cleo[/name]. My favourite is [name]Juniper[/name] and he loves [name]Juno[/name] so maybe I can get him to go for it. I suggested [name]Cleo[/name] nicknamed clover and he just laughed and said “yeah I will just go by [name]Bob[/name] now” (his name is [name]Jason[/name]). I will keep trying though :). So at the moment she will be [name]Juniper[/name] [name]Poppy[/name] [name]Sophia[/name].

Maybe you could convince him that he could call [name]Juniper[/name] “[name]Juno[/name]”. Could sweeten the deal for him.

Other ideas for a full name for [name]Cleo[/name]: [name]Clementine[/name] / [name]Clementina[/name], [name]Caroline[/name], [name]Cleora[/name], [name]Cleona[/name] /[name]Cleonie[/name], (really unconventional options: Cléophée, [name]Caledonia[/name], [name]Calista[/name]/[name]Callisto[/name] nn [name]Clio[/name])

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Juniper[/name] [name]Poppy[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] NN [name]Juno[/name]. Gorgeous!

I really like the suggestion of [name]Aurora[/name], ‘rory’ as well.

Some others:
[name]Clarissa[/name] ‘[name]Clary[/name]’
[name]Poppy[/name]
[name]Thea[/name]
[name]Maren[/name] ‘[name]Mae[/name]’
[name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name] ‘[name]Liv[/name]’

Or there’s always [name]Calliope[/name] nn [name]Clio[/name]! It would go well with [name]Persephone[/name], and your man would get a nn he love

Hmm…
So obviously your partner has a thing for ‘tom-boy’ names. So I’d compromise go with an elegant feminine name that fits your style but has a masculine twist or a masculine sound. Like [name]Samantha[/name] with the nickname ‘[name]Sam[/name]’.

Suggestions:
[name]Elisabeth[/name] ‘[name]Eli[/name]’
[name]Aurora[/name] ‘[name]Rory[/name]’
[name]Scarlett[/name] ‘[name]Scout[/name]’
[name]Thomasina[/name] ‘[name]Tommy[/name]’
[name]Theodora[/name] ‘[name]Teddy[/name]’
[name]Alexandra[/name] ‘[name]Alex[/name]’

Or maybe go for more feminine unisex names…
Suggestions:
[name]Paisley[/name]
[name]Taylor[/name]
[name]Avery[/name]
[name]Peyton[/name]
[name]Paige[/name]

Ooh, I like [name]Lori[/name]'s suggestions (as usual ;))! An added bonus is that some of these have possible tomboy and/or trendy nicknames that would go well with Persey and maybe appease the papa.

[name]Andromeda[/name] - [name]Andy[/name], [name]Romy[/name]
Coriander - [name]Cori[/name], [name]Rory[/name]
[name]Desdemona[/name] - [name]Desi[/name], [name]Demi[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name] - [name]Sadie[/name], [name]Dora[/name] (NMS)
[name]Zenobia[/name] - drawing a blank here. [name]Zena[/name]?

[name]Lori[/name] has amazing suggestions, and [name]Tara[/name]'s nicknames for them are all good. As [name]Zenobia[/name] is on my girl list I’ll add the nicknames I’m thinking of; Zoo, ZeZe and Bia (the last two are suggestions from the wonderful dindlee).

Whew, much better than [name]Zena[/name]!
