Please help! Can't choose between these two vintage names and baby is due in 5 weeks!

[name_m]Just[/name_m] some things for you to consider:,I like [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] better than [name_f]Frances[/name_f], but I’d be concerned with popularity, so that would rule out [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] for me. It’s very popular where I live. I do like the connection that you and a [name_f]Frances[/name_f] would have. I also think it’s important that Dad loves the name as well.

[name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] is okay and might flow really we depending on your last name, but without knowing that I like flow of [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] better.

I like [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] alot too, maybe because I had a friend with the name, s what about [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]? I like it better than [name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f].

It is hard; they are both nice names.

If it were me, I would choose [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]. What makes me love it — I am crazy about z sounds in names, it is a nature name, it as, as you say, a soft lovely sound, it’s old-fashioned without being in the least clunky, and there’s something adult about it, a certain air of competence, that I love.

The only down side might be the [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_u]Green[/name_u] thing, but I wouldn’t let him stop me.

I like [name_f]Frances[/name_f] but there’s something about the frannn sound that jars me. Plus I can’t stand [name_u]Fran[/name_u] or [name_u]Frannie[/name_u] and others might well call her that.

Good luck!
[name_u]Leslie[/name_u]

I love [name_f]Frances[/name_f] for u and [name_f]Francie[/name_f] is absolutely adorable

What about [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]! I think that sounds lovely! Also, [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] is my favourite of those two names.

I personally prefer [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] although, as pps pointed out, popularity may be a down side for that name. [name_f]Frances[/name_f] feels like an old lady’s name for me, maybe because I live in a different country, but it’s pretty though, and I think that it fits better with your sons’ names.

My vote goes for [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] although both names will suit your famil perfectly.

I think [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] is a gorgeous name and would be my preference if I were given the choice between the two. But [name_f]Frances[/name_f] is okay. I like it more as a middle name usually…but it’s fine as a first.

[name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] is adorable!

I really love both names, but I prefer [name_f]Frances[/name_f] with your boys’ names.

I prefer [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] but if you and your husband both like [name_f]Frances[/name_f], it is probably the way to go.

I prefer [name_f]Frances[/name_f], and adore nn [name_f]Francie[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Frances[/name_f] because it reminds me of [name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_m]Bean[/name_m] Cobain, but it doesn’t sound as feminine and soft as [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] does. [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] is sweet and fun, I vote for [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]!

I much prefer [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]. [name_f]Frances[/name_f] has always seemed a bit dated and flat to me (no offense). I find [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] to be much sweeter and preppy.

I just really love the idea of [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] (you two would share a middle name, and your husband could still nickname her [name_f]Francie[/name_f] if he doesn’t love [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]). But I feel like you must have a different middle name picked out or you would have mentioned this as a possible option.

[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] and [name_f]Frances[/name_f] are both lovely names, you can’t go wrong! I personally prefer [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] and think it goes better with your sibset though. It has a softer sound and a vintage but modern vibe, which works better with [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] especially rather than [name_f]Frances[/name_f] which is old-fashioned-chic without the more current feel of [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]. [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] would both sound wonderful.

I personally prefer [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] by a lot, but it’s not too popular where I’m at, either. I’m not a huge fan of [name_f]Frances[/name_f], and I associate it too much with being dated since it’s my great grandmother’s name (no offense). I think [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] would be really pretty, but [name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] is okay too.
