We both love [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] & have chose this for our dd2. Problem is our mn, we have decided to use [name_f]MIL[/name_f]'s name as middle & I don’t think it flows it will be [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Georgina[/name_f]. [name_m]How[/name_m] would you percieve this little girl to be? Dh says its non-negotiable as dd1 named afte my mom & grandma…
DD1 is [name_f]Molly[/name_f] so what do you think of [name_f]Molly[/name_f] & [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] as a sib-set, will probably end up [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] so we will have a [name_f]Molly[/name_f] & [name_f]Tilly[/name_f]!!
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] are a little too close for my taste, although I love [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]. I agree that the flow is off…but I love the suggestions of [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Georgine[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Georgette[/name_f]. You’re still honoring your mother-in-law.
It’s kind of cumbersome to say…how about [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_u]Georgie[/name_u]? I don’t normally like [name_u]Georgie[/name_u], but I think it sounds darling with [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]!
Not crazy about [name_f]Molly[/name_f] & [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] or [name_f]Molly[/name_f] & [name_f]Tilly[/name_f], but that’s just me (for the formal names I don’t like that they’re alliterative and the nicknames are too rhymey).
Thanks for the suggestions, it’s a tough one, I wanted [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f] but dh says no [name_m]WAY[/name_m] it needs to be [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] or a form of it. In fairness he always lets me have my way so I’ll agree to go along with it… [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_u]Georgie[/name_u] is quite cute would you think the flow of [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] would be any better than [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Georgina[/name_f]?
I don’t like [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] but I think [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] could work. I personally prefer [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Georgia[/name_f].
I agree that [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] isn’t the best sounding name, however I adore both names individually. [name_f]Georgine[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgette[/name_f] are great though. Other names similar are Geneve, [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_f]Geraldine[/name_f] (a little too old for my taste, but it could work if you like old sounding names). [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] are great together but I think [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] sound too similar for sisters. Maybe [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Tilda[/name_f]?
hmm I like the suggestion of [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Georgette[/name_f] or [name_f]Georgine[/name_f], like the others said. The flow of [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] is a little off.
Yeah, I think [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Georgette[/name_f] sounds best.
And while [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] isn’t the greatest combo (going on closeness),a [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] doesn’t have to be a [name_f]Tilly[/name_f]. She could be:
Since [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] is non-negotiable, I would be looking for ways to make the name work.
You could just go with [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] if that is what you are planning on calling her. [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] has a nice flow and. [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] parallels [name_f]Molly[/name_f] nicely.
Or you could make [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] a double barreled name. [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]-[name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] flows nicely as well.
I love [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], and any of the nn’s [name_f]Tilly[/name_f], [name_u]Tally[/name_u], [name_u]Mattie[/name_u], [name_f]Tilda[/name_f]
I think [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] is nice but I agree the flow isnt brilliant. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f], adds an extra syllable so flows a little better.
I love the suggestion of [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgette[/name_f], not really sure about [name_u]Georgie[/name_u] tho.
Whilst [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] are similar they dont actually rhyme, and nns sometimes pop up from the oddest places, my step daughter for example is [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] but we call her 'Tater short for Potato.
Honestly I love [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] but I would make her first name [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] mn [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], ie [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f].
Siblings
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_u]Georgie[/name_u] much cuter as a sibset.
[name_m]Ah[/name_m] its so hard to warm to any of the [name_m]George[/name_m] names… [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Georgina[/name_f] is awful isn’t it… I would love [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f] or [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f]…
