We are expecting a little brother for [name]Iris[/name] in a matter of weeks and can’t find a single name that:
a) we both love
b) works with our last name (which has three syllables, starts with “o” and ends in “er”)
c) isn’t already taken or becoming too popular
Here are some names we have tossed around:
My list: (Hubby doesn’t like any of them)
[name]Lachlan[/name] (but sadly was recently taken by close friends)
[name]Oscar[/name]
[name]Eli[/name]
Kipling
[name]August[/name]
His list:
[name]Magnus[/name] (I just don’t like it)
[name]Atticus[/name] (three syllables seems too much with our last name)
[name]William[/name] (too popular)
[name]Isaac[/name] (nn [name]Ike[/name]) is the name we had chosen if our daughter was a boy- we both really like it, but I sort of don’t like the idea of having both names start with “I”. We also both kind of like [name]Hamish[/name] and possibly [name]Leif[/name].
The perfect name would have two syllables, not end in “er”, not start with I or O. Too many rules??
I love a lot of boys names ending in “o” for [name]Iris[/name]’ sibling ([name]Hugo[/name], [name]Theo[/name], [name]Milo[/name] etc…) but your surname begins with “o” so the names wouldn’t be ideal for flow.
I love [name]Iris[/name], and I like pretty much every name from your list! The only one that really stands out as being something I don’t like is [name]Magnus[/name], but I don’t hate it or anything. I don’t think that your list of constraints is unreasonable at all. It sounds very achievable.
[name]Iris[/name] and [name]Everett[/name] - REALLY like this
[name]Iris[/name] and [name]Owen[/name]
[name]Iris[/name] and [name]Asher[/name]
[name]Iris[/name] and [name]Archie[/name]
Bad luck about [name]Lachlan[/name] I would use it as a middle name anyway for example [name]Grant[/name] [name]Lachlan[/name] which is a fantastic combo.
