I am scheduled for a c-section in less than one week and my husband and I have nixed each others favorite names…so we came up with names that we both think are just ok but I am frustrated because I want to love the name! Middle name can be [name]John[/name],[name]Joel[/name] or [name]Christopher[/name] (all family names)…here is the list…PLEASE HELP! All comments and suggestions welcome!
Or maybe similar but slightly different names:
Syrius
[name]Dane[/name]/[name]Zane[/name]
[name]Brady[/name]
[name]Lucas[/name]
(sorry, [name]Bodhi[/name] is harder to ‘play’ with)
This might lead you from a name you think is ok to one you think is great, if you can define what it is about each of your names you like and then tweak it a bit.
Failing tha, the names you have listed are nice. I actually quite like that [name]Bodhi[/name] can’t be played with too much as it wll mean fewer other names out there that could be confused for his. [name]Bodhi[/name] [name]Joel[/name] sounds like a good combo to me, if that helps.
Hello [name]Juniper[/name],
[name]Don[/name]`t know if this helps at all but I never would have considered [name]Lucius[/name] until I saw it on your list. I looked and it has an elegant regal history: Etruscan kings! Popes! Ancient Romans! To me it satisfies what looks like both your interest in quirky cool names and also more traditional appeal as well. [name]Kane[/name] isn´t my own style, too emm wrong side of biblical for me, but lots of names that rhyme with it are nice. [name]Dane[/name], etc. Judging by your list it seems like you want exotic and cool but short and snappy too. [name]Wild[/name] guess but what about [name]Jasper[/name]? More common here in Belgium…From medieval Persian ultimately. I also get the feeling you are into classical style, e.g. [name]Cyrus[/name] and [name]Lucius[/name]. So many possibilities there. [name]Cato[/name]? [name]Julius[/name]? [name]Rufus[/name]? etc. Good [name]Luck[/name]!
Agree with bluejuniper. Maybe changing up the names ever-so-slightly will make them more appealing?
[name]Brody[/name] with a “y” is so much better than “-hi”. It will save you and your son a lifetime of constantly correcting the spelling.
[name]Brody[/name] [name]John[/name]
[name]Brody[/name] [name]Christopher[/name]
As bluejuniper said, [name]Brady[/name] is a really nice alternative. Not very popular, but still modern without being weird.
[name]Lucius[/name] is harsh, [name]IMO[/name]. Much too close to [name]Lucifer[/name] for my preference. [name]Lucas[/name] might be a nice alternative?
[name]Lucas[/name] [name]Christopher[/name]
[name]Lucas[/name] [name]John[/name]
[name]Don[/name]'t really like [name]Kane[/name] or [name]Syrus[/name] at all, sorry.
My DH loves [name]Cyrus[/name] too, and the only reason I considered it off his list is because he’s insisting on spelling it [name]Syrus[/name]. For some reason it seems much more tolerable - and even cute - to me that way. I’m still trying to love it as much as he does though. We wanted [name]John[/name] as a mn so it would be [name]Syrus[/name] [name]John[/name]. HTH…GL!!
Thank you for the help! Your suggestions are helpful. I especially like changing [name]Cyrus[/name] to [name]Syrus[/name] which helps with the [name]Billy[/name] ray and [name]Miley[/name] [name]Cyrus[/name] connotation. I feel that [name]Brody[/name] and [name]Brady[/name] are a bit too common which is why i added [name]Bodhi[/name] which has a nice meaning.( wise, enlightened). Which name do you think goes best with Brother [name]Rafe[/name]?
