Please help me narrow down my girl list

I am down to my top three
-Eva
-Catherine (thinking about a nickname being Catarina, but doesnt have to be)
-Cecilia

of note, my name is Courtney and her dad’s name is Evan.
Her brother’s name is Carter.

I will pick one of the three then feel regret a day later!

I would love outside opinions.

I like all three, aah

I think maybe I would go with [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f], if you’re looking for her name to match with yours. It kind of seems like it would fit well with [name_u]Evan[/name_u] and [name_u]Courtney[/name_u].

Catarina is a name on its own and wouldn’t really work with [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] as that’s the [name_f]English[/name_f] spelling and [name_f]Catarina[/name_f] is the Spanish/Italian, I suggest [name_f]Catharina[/name_f] as the Spanish form of [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], but feel if you want [name_f]Catarina[/name_f] as a nn to just use it as full name given how it’s lengthy on its own already!

For names I suggest the name [name_f]Evelina[/name_f]! As that’s a mixture of [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] and [name_f]Eva[/name_f]! And goes well with the sibling set: [name_u]Carter[/name_u] and [name_f]Evelina[/name_f], it also makes you and your husband have matching initials with both kids (don’t know if that’s intentional or a want, but I think that’s adorable!)

Hmm… I love [name_u]Carter[/name_u] & [name_f]Eva[/name_f] together, but I don’t know if it’s too match-y with [name_u]Courtney[/name_u] & [name_u]Evan[/name_u]. [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] would be absolutely gorgeous, though!

The only one I don’t like for you is [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]. [name_u]Carter[/name_u] and [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] just feel very mismatched for sibling names, imho. But that could just be me.

I wouldn’t advise [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] or [name_f]Catarina[/name_f] with [name_u]Carter[/name_u], even though it’s lovely. [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite of your options is [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], but [name_f]Eva[/name_f] is also quite sweet!

I wouldn’t use [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]/Catarina. For one, it’s too matchy-matchy with the rest of the names in your family. Also, [name_f]Catarina[/name_f] is the Spanish version of [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], not a nickname for it. [name_f]My[/name_f] vote goes to [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Eva[/name_f]. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] also starts with a C I don’t think it’s too matchy because of the soft C sound.

My vote goes to [name_f]Eva[/name_f]! Simple and gorgeous! I don’t get how [name_f]Catarina[/name_f] would be a nickname for [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], as they are both full forms of the name. That would be like [name_m]Miguel[/name_m] being a nickname for [name_u]Michael[/name_u].

[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]! I think it might be a bit much to have [name_f]Eva[/name_f] & [name_u]Evan[/name_u] - even as a parent-child pair. And then I feel like the Cart, [name_f]Cat[/name_f], [name_m]Court[/name_m] flow might be confusing if you go with [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] or [name_f]Catarina[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] best. I also think that [name_u]Carter[/name_u] and [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] is a super cute sibset.

I like the symmetry of 2 E names and 2 C names in your family! But I feel like [name_f]Eva[/name_f] is a bit too close to [name_u]Evan[/name_u]. I would prefer something like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] with the nickname [name_f]Eva[/name_f]

I also like [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] (I prefer the spelling [name_f]Cathryn[/name_f], but either is fine). I don’t feel like [name_f]Catarina[/name_f] is a natural nickname for [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] tho… [name_f]Catarina[/name_f] is a great first name, I hope you all consider it! I love [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], [name_f]Cathryn[/name_f], or [name_f]Caterina[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Cat[/name_f]!

Welcome to Nameberry, and congrats

I too love the idea of [name_u]Carter[/name_u] and [name_f]Eva[/name_f] together, but with your husband being [name_u]Evan[/name_u] I do wonder if it’s a bit too close… But then [name_u]Carter[/name_u] is quite close to your name and clearly it hasn’t been an issue

I think I’m going to vote for [name_f]Eva[/name_f] first, followed by [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]. [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] has lots of wonderful nicknames, I especially like [name_f]Cate[/name_f], [name_u]Kit[/name_u] or (W)ren.

Good luck!

Avery! I just know a sibset like that which is why I offered that suggestion

Catherine would be recommendation. [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Eva[/name_f] aren’t my style unfortunately.

Some more suggestions:

Carter and [name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_u]Carter[/name_u] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] (my fave!)
[name_u]Carter[/name_u] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_u]Carter[/name_u] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_u]Carter[/name_u] and [name_u]Shelby[/name_u]
[name_u]Carter[/name_u] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_u]Carter[/name_u] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Ellie[/name_f])
[name_u]Carter[/name_u] and [name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_u]Carter[/name_u] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]

Congratulations!

All three names are lovely.

I think for you my favourite is [name_f]Eva[/name_f]. This name is very spunky and sweet. She doesn’t feel as formal as [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] & [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] which I think would work better with [name_u]Carter[/name_u]. [name_f]Eva[/name_f] & [name_u]Carter[/name_u] work well together whereas I think [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] & [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] feel to stylistically different.

First of all, I’ve seen [name_f]Eva[/name_f] pronounced two ways, so just to clarify, is it prononced like ([name_f]Ava[/name_f]) or (E-VA)

I really like [name_f]Eva[/name_f] and [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]!
