Please help me pick a beautiful name for my daughter-thoughts on my choices

Hello Everyone,

Please help me narrow my list for my daughter. The names are blending together, and I can’t think straight. I am going mad! What is your favorite name from my list? What flows best? My last name is [name]Hart[/name]. Yes I know I am traditional. My son’s name is [name]William[/name] if this helps. Thanks!!!

[name]Claire[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Hart[/name]
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Monet[/name] [name]Hart[/name]
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Madeline[/name] [name]Hart[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Eloise[/name] [name]Hart[/name]
[name]Emma[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Hart[/name]
[name]Emma[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] [name]Hart[/name]
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Hart[/name]
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] [name]Hart[/name]
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Julia[/name] [name]Hart[/name]
[name]Sarah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Hart[/name]
[name]Sarah[/name] [name]Angela[/name] [name]Hart[/name]
[name]Sarah[/name] [name]Angela[/name] [name]Hart[/name]

[name]Lovely[/name] selection of choices you’ve assembled! [name]Do[/name] you mind if I rearrange a few middles? My picks would fall in this order:

  1. [name]Clara[/name] [name]Madeline[/name] [name]Hart[/name] or [name]Clara[/name] [name]Monet[/name] [name]Hart[/name]. I think [name]Clara[/name] matches [name]William[/name]'s traditional style, but stands out as an underused classic–can be strong and spunky or light and whimsical. However, I personally dislike first and middle names with the same ending (sounds redundant to me), so I wouldn’t pick [name]Sophia[/name] or [name]Julia[/name]. I love the three middles you’ve got with [name]Claire[/name], though, and none of those end in -a. Of the three, I rather prefer [name]Monet[/name]–it seems so bright and unexpected! But [name]Clara[/name] [name]Madeline[/name] would be a close second.
  2. [name]Emma[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Hart[/name]. I love the simplicity and flow of this combination! [name]Emma[/name] and [name]William[/name] seems very well matched. I don’t care for [name]Emma[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] in a row though, partially because of the double -a thing and partially because the high popularity of one name doesn’t bother me, but two big hits would.
  3. [name]Anna[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Hart[/name] or [name]Anna[/name] [name]Eloise[/name] [name]Hart[/name]. [name]Anna[/name] is right behind [name]Emma[/name] for me. I almost had this higher than [name]Emma[/name], but that [name]Emma[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] combo was too dreamy. [name]Anna[/name] and [name]William[/name] are a lovely pair.
  4. [name]Sarah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Hart[/name]. I think this flows well, but I find [name]Sarah[/name] awfully…dull. I feel like I have known so many [name]Sarah[/name]/Saras and of so many ages that, while it’s definitely a classic and never out of style, it feels too heavily used [name]IMO[/name]. I also separate [name]Sarah[/name] into the Biblical classics whereas [name]William[/name] feels more British classics…so I don’t think they’re as evenly paired.
  5. [name]Claire[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Hart[/name] or [name]Claire[/name] [name]Monet[/name] [name]Hart[/name]. I love [name]Claire[/name], and I love it with [name]William[/name], but I find it quite abrupt and short with the last name [name]Hart[/name]. While the longer middle helps, it won’t be said most of the time. I much prefer [name]Clara[/name] with [name]Hart[/name].
  6. [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Hart[/name]–that “har” sound is too redundant for me. I’d scratch this in favor of one of your other great choices.

So I would run with [name]Clara[/name] or [name]Emma[/name] (or [name]Anna[/name]). They’re fabulous!

From your list I like [name]Claire[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Anna[/name] [name]Catherine[/name], and [name]Clara[/name] [name]Julia[/name].

I would probably rearrange a few fn/mn. I like [name]Clara[/name] [name]Madeline[/name], [name]Anna[/name] [name]Claire[/name], [name]Emma[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] or [name]Emma[/name] [name]Claire[/name]

Thank you so much for your feedback. A fresh perspective is what I needed!

Although I love the names [name]Clare[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name]-- I agree with the above comments-- they don’t work the best with your last name. Of the rest, I like [name]Clara[/name] best-- traditional, but not as popular as the rest. I agree with ellenelle too, that [name]Clara[/name] [name]Madeline[/name] is a lovely combination. I would use that or maybe [name]Clara[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]-- but the 2 double -a ending names (i.e. [name]Clara[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] is a little hard to say). [name]Clara[/name] [name]Isabelle[/name], [name]Clara[/name] [name]Rosemarie[/name], [name]Clara[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name], [name]Clara[/name] [name]Magdalene[/name], [name]Clara[/name] [name]Josephine[/name], etc. all work well.

I don’t think [name]Sarah[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] sound great with your last name to be honest and while I adore [name]Claire[/name], I think it sounds very abrupt with [name]Hart[/name] being only one syllable. I think [name]Emma[/name] and [name]Anna[/name] give the best flow. I love seeing [name]Angela[/name], I would [name]LOVE[/name] to see that up front!

I like [name]Clara[/name] best. Simple but fresh. [name]Both[/name] of your options are nice. [name]Clara[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] is more timeless, but [name]Clara[/name] [name]Julia[/name] is very liquid.

I also like [name]Clara[/name] as the first name. I think [name]Clara[/name] [name]Monet[/name] [name]Hart[/name] sounds fabulous…elegant and classy.

I love [name]Claire[/name] [name]Monet[/name], but agree that [name]Claire[/name] sounds a bit abrupt with your surname. [name]Clara[/name] [name]Monet[/name]? You’d probably still call her [name]Claire[/name] for short some of the time anyway. And I just have a soft spot for [name]Monet[/name]. Good luck to you.

I agree with the previous poster…there is just a nice flow with [name]Clara[/name] [name]Monet[/name] [name]Hart[/name]

Actually, scanning through this list the first time, my mind replaced all the Claires with Claras. I like [name]Clara[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Hart[/name] the best of the [name]Clara[/name]/[name]Claire[/name] options. [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Eloise[/name] is really nice, but [name]Charlotte[/name] doesn’t go well with [name]Hart[/name]. Out of your names, I think [name]Clara[/name] goes best with [name]William[/name].

My top 3:
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] (top pick!!)
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Sarah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]

I like [name]Emma[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Hart[/name] and [name]Anna[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Hart[/name] best. I agree with the comments stating that [name]Claire[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] do not flow well with [name]Hart[/name]. I have to say I do not care for [name]Clara[/name] with [name]Hart[/name] either.

[name]Claire[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Hart[/name] - I like it, but not with Hart! I know twins where 1 is named [name]Claire[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. Her sister is [name]Madeline[/name]!
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Monet[/name] [name]Hart[/name] - Not bad, but the fn and mn run together.
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Madeline[/name] [name]Hart[/name] - Funny, I know twins named [name]Claire[/name] and [name]Madeline[/name]!! Not liking the flow of them together, though.
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Eloise[/name] [name]Hart[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it…just not with Hart! I’m iffy on [name]Charlotte[/name] and don’t usually like [name]Eloise[/name], but I love them together!!
[name]Emma[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Hart[/name] - I like it! I like the alliteration of it, as well. (I’ve seen/read [name]Clifford[/name] the Big [name]Red[/name] Dog too much, and the girls name is [name]Emily[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. Reminds me of that, too.)
[name]Emma[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] [name]Hart[/name] - Not too bad.
[name]Anna[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Hart[/name] - Not bad. Good flow.
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] [name]Hart[/name] - Better than [name]Clara[/name] [name]Julia[/name], but not the best.
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Julia[/name] [name]Hart[/name] - Not liking these 2 ending -a names together, maybe because they have the same number of syllables?
[name]Sarah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Hart[/name] - Like it! And not just because my name is [name]Sarah[/name], either!! Good flow. [name]William[/name] and [name]Sarah[/name] are both classics.
[name]Sarah[/name] [name]Angela[/name] [name]Hart[/name] - The first 2 names run together. Not the best flow.

My faves from the list:
Anna Catherine Hart
[name]Emma[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Hart[/name]
[name]Sarah[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Hart[/name]

[name]Emma[/name] [name]Sophia[/name]…I am not a fan on [name]Claire[/name] or [name]Sarah[/name]. [name]Emma[/name] is trendy but still super cute!!

To help narrow your list…

My favorites are:
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Monet[/name] [name]Hart[/name]
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Madeline[/name] [name]Hart[/name]
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Hart[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Eloise[/name] [name]Hart[/name]

My least favorites are:
[name]Emma[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Hart[/name]
[name]Emma[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] [name]Hart[/name]
[name]Sarah[/name] [name]Angela[/name] [name]Hart[/name]
[name]Sarah[/name] [name]Angela[/name] [name]Hart[/name]

I agree that [name]Clara[/name] [name]Monet[/name] [name]Hart[/name] would be a beautiful choice!

I agree with pps that [name]Claire[/name] [name]Hart[/name] is not ideal. [name]Claire[/name] is beautiful, but sounds abrupt and choppy with the one-syllable surname [name]Hart[/name]. For that reason, in place of [name]Claire[/name], I would go with [name]Clara[/name]. [name]Clara[/name] [name]Hart[/name] flows so much more nicely.

I am not a big fan of [name]Emma[/name] or [name]Angela[/name]. Also, I would nix [name]Charlotte[/name] from your list because the flow of [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Hart[/name] (with the two T endings) is choppy.

[name]Sarah[/name] is fine, but – with your last name – I like [name]Clara[/name] better.

I love:
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Monet[/name] [name]Hart[/name]
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Madeline[/name] [name]Hart[/name]
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Hart[/name]

[name]Clara[/name] [name]Madeline[/name] [name]Hart[/name] is stunning. It’s effortless, cute enough for a child and sophisticated enough for a woman.

It’s traditional without being expected and it’s very feminine.
[name]Love[/name] it!

I love [name]Clara[/name]. [name]Clara[/name] [name]Monet[/name] [name]Hart[/name] is lovely and fresh.

Thank you for everyone who responded. You have been a huge help!

I agree with most of the previous posters. [name]Clara[/name] is my favorite first name on your list by far. I don’t think you can go too wrong in terms of a middle name, but I do think [name]Madeleine[/name] has the best flow with [name]Clara[/name]. [name]Clara[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] is also quite sweet!
