I welcome your thoughts/feedback on the following names (or potential first/middle combinations). Many thanks!
[name]Sara[/name]
[name]Dora[/name]
[name]Dorothy[/name] (after grandmother; don’t love the name, but love the nicknames (e.g., [name]Dot[/name], [name]Dottie[/name], [name]Daisy[/name]))
[name]Love[/name] [name]Susannah[/name] and [name]Delia[/name] the most! But [name]Betty[/name], [name]Dora[/name] and [name]Dorothy[/name] are also adorable. What about [name]Delia[/name] [name]Betty[/name] or [name]Susannah[/name] [name]Dorothy[/name]?
1 [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Brooke[/name] ([name]Eliza[/name] and [name]Betty[/name] are both nn’s for [name]Elizabeth[/name] so I think [name]Eliza[/name] could honor a [name]Betty[/name] too!)
2 [name]Susannah[/name] [name]Brooke[/name]
3 [name]Dorothy[/name] [name]Sara[/name]
I personally like rhyming names so [name]Sara[/name] [name]Dora[/name] and [name]Sara[/name] [name]Delia[/name] appeal to me.
I think [name]Dora[/name] or [name]Daisy[/name] would be a great way to honor a grandma without using a name you don’t like.
Same with [name]Betty[/name], you could use a name that it’s short for like [name]Beatrice[/name], [name]Beth[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name], or [name]Roberta[/name].
[name]Sara[/name] - love this. [name]Even[/name] though [name]Sara/name was huge in the late 80s, it’s still so classic that I don’t think it’ll go anywhere. I absolutely love it. I think [name]Sara[/name] [name]Dorothy[/name] would be great, and a nice way to use [name]Dorothy[/name] without worrying about using a FN you don’t love.
[name]Dora[/name] - cute, and I think it could honor your grandma very easily. [name]Dora[/name] has always seemed pretty nicknamey to me–I would prefer to see [name]Isadora[/name] or [name]Dorothy[/name], nn [name]Dora[/name].
[name]Dorothy[/name] (after grandmother; don’t love the name, but love the nicknames (e.g., [name]Dot[/name], [name]Dottie[/name], [name]Daisy[/name])) - I agree, the nns are adorable! I especially love [name]Dot[/name]. I like the idea of using [name]Dora[/name] for her, her even [name]Dorothy[/name] as a MN (or [name]Dot[/name] as a MN? I think _____ [name]Dot[/name] is so cute! It would work better with a longer name, like [name]Seraphina[/name] [name]Dot[/name] or [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Dot[/name], etc.)
[name]Eliza[/name] - love! It’s a longstanding favorite of mine, but it gained all this attention, and it just doesn’t feel as special to me, which is probably why I won’t use it. I do adore it, though.
[name]Susannah[/name] - not a personal favorite, but it’s timeless and gorgeous. What about [name]Susannah[/name] [name]Dot[/name]?
[name]Betty[/name] (after grandmother) - [name]Betty[/name] is cute, but I like [name]Elisabeth[/name] a bit more. I always think of Ugly [name]Betty[/name], though, and I LOVED that show, haha, so it’s a good association for me.
[name]Delia[/name] - I like it, but prefer [name]Cordelia[/name]. [name]Delia[/name] [name]Dot[/name] might be a fun name to have, though.
[name]Brooke[/name] - sweet, but it feels a bit dated to me, sorry.
[name]Eliza[/name], [name]Delia[/name], and [name]Sara[/name] are my favorites! I would love to see [name]Dot[/name] or [name]Dorothy[/name] as a MN for all of them. I especially like [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Dorothy[/name]/[name]Eliza[/name] [name]Dot[/name], as it could be a reference to both grandmothers.
