I’ve never been one to choose a name based off meaning but feel like I need to with my third baby girl. My first two are Jadynne [name_u]Ren[/name_u]ée and [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] [name_f]Ann[/name_f].
I’m having a very difficult pregnancy and am not doing so good healthwise and I just got diagnosed with ICP at 19 weeks. I’m very scared for my baby.
I need a beautiful name with meaning… Warrior, fighter, strong, badass, whatever. She needs a name that suits her if we both survive this pregnancy.
Here are some with inspirational meanings that hopefully fit your taste (Jadynne and [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] being tailored unisex names, I didn’t suggest anything too frilly):
[name_u]Bryn[/name_u]
[name_f]Brianna[/name_f]
Anything with “[name_u]Val[/name_u]”: [name_f]Valeria[/name_f], [name_f]Valencia[/name_f], [name_u]Vale[/name_u]
[name_f]Leona[/name_f], [name_f]Leonie[/name_f]
[name_u]Joan[/name_u] or [name_f]Joanie[/name_f] or [name_f]Joni[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] or [name_f]Vivi[/name_f]
I wish you the best in your pregnancy. Hopefully these names will help you in your journey. Personally I think [name_f]Althea[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], or [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] would compliment Jadynne and [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] nicely.
Alesta, [name_f]Alexa[/name_f], [name_u]Alexis[/name_u], [name_f]Tandy[/name_f] - ‘[name_m]Man[/name_m]’s Defender’

Thanks for the suggestions. I know Jadynne and [name_u]Delaney[/name_u] are unisex and I was looking for a unisex name before but this baby is special… maybe she deserves a beautiful frilly feminine name for surviving this hell we’ve been put through (and I got awhile to go still.)
I think most of the good “strength” meanings have been mentioned, I’m going to go for something a bit different.
Aoife (ee-fa) - Gaelic, means beautiful but was the name of a great warrior in Irish mythology (one of my favourite names and I love the history)
Ava, Eve, Vida- all mean “life”
Xena - not so much the meaning but Xena will always be “warrior princess” to most people.
Olympia - from Mount Olympus - I associate it with the greatness and strength of all the Greek gods.
Artemis - Goddess of hunt, childbirth, protector of young girls. If you read some of the legends of Artemis she’s pretty badass!
Elena/Helen/Helena - bright, shining light - not quite strength or warrior but I do think that the meaning demonstrates will, determination, hope and even strength.
Yes, when a name doesn’t produce a link, it means a name/spelling hasn’t been verified by Nameberry.
Out of what has been suggested for you, I think [name_u]Destry[/name_u], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], and [name_f]Juno[/name_f] fit best with Jadynne and [name_u]Delaney[/name_u].
But Skyrah is very pretty and definitely fits with your girls too!
Some other ideas:
[name_f]Philomena[/name_f] - friend, lover, strength, courage
[name_f]Nadia[/name_f]/[name_f]Nadya[/name_f] - diminutive of a Slavic name meaning “hope”
[name_f]Eudora[/name_f] - “good gift”
First, lay your fear to rest. With active management - and if you’ve been diagnosed, then your doctor is helping you manage it, I assume with UDCA - the stillbirth rate is similar to, if not the same as, a pregnant mom who doesn’t have ICP. Which means that you and the baby both have a 99% chance of being just fine. The chance for other problems like meconium staining or fetal distress is increased, but not guaranteed - especially when ICP is actively managed.
That being said, I’m happy to offer some names for you. I would suggest that you consider using her badass name for the middle, so she’s not burdened with always being reminded of her perilous beginning, but her strength is still part of her name.
[name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] - rising from the ashes to new life
[name_f]Aerin[/name_f] - the name of the heroine in a YA fantasy novel (The [name_u]Hero[/name_u] and the Crown); she fights a dragon and saves her people
Anthem - a song of freedom and victory
[name_f]Victoire[/name_f] - [name_m]French[/name_m] for victory
Harvest - all is safely gathered in; reward for diligence and patience
[name_u]Haven[/name_u] or [name_u]Harbor[/name_u] - a safe home, a protected place
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], etc. - a treasure
[name_f]Kara[/name_f] - means ‘beloved’, it’s Supergirl’s given name
[name_f]Diana[/name_f] - Wonder Woman’s given name
[name_f]Natalia[/name_f]/[name_f]Natasha[/name_f] - [name_m]Black[/name_m] Widow’s given name and nickname
[name_f]Jubilee[/name_f] - one of the X-Men; also means celebration
[name_f]Athena[/name_f], [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] - Greek goddesses
[name_f]Rosie[/name_f] - the Riveter “We Can [name_f]Do[/name_f] It”
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u], nn [name_f]Juno[/name_f] - [name_f]Juno[/name_f] was queen of the Greek gods
[name_f]Hermione[/name_f] - [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] would’ve failed without her
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] - from [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], the Great
