It’s finally official and the naming process has begun. I am soon going to be welcoming two darling maltese puppies into my family–two little girls. I have been tweaking my list for weeks but I am still indecisive about their names!
Shortest version of the list: [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
Also considering: [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] (probably called [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] more often but I like the completeness of [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f])
Ruled out: [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_f]Polly[/name_f], [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]
Still on the fence about: [name_f]Nina[/name_f] (but what would the other be called? I don’t think it pairs up well.)
As you can tell, I love modern-suited vintage names that are mostly 2 syllables. My mom and I have loved [name_f]Margot[/name_f] forever, but I’m afraid that the -go ending will be confusing. [name_u]June[/name_u] is also a potential middle name for some names (but not [name_f]Violet[/name_f] or [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]). Once I pick the first names, then I’ll move onto middles.
I am really mulling over this decision because a) I’m a name-nerd, and b) it’s very possible I might not have biological children due to a medical issue, so I want to really love my pups’ names. But just in case, I’m saving my absolute favorites ([name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]) for later.
For reference, this is what they will look like:
