Our second daughter will be born soon, and we can not decide on a name. Our first is named [name_u]Emerson[/name_u], and our last name is two syllables beginning with a W (“ey” ending). Thank You!
I would definitely not go with anything frilly next to [name_u]Emerson[/name_u], so that automatically eliminates [name_f]Ava[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]. I would also eliminate [name_u]Sydney[/name_u], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], and [name_u]Finley[/name_u] because they end with the “ee” sound like your last name does. So that leaves [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and [name_u]Hayden[/name_u]. [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] is a great big no for me because it rhymes with way too many popular names. She would be lost in a sea of Aidens, Kaydens, Bradens, Jaydens, and Zaidens and all their spelling variations. For me, [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is the sure winner here. [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] sound great as sisters. Congrats!
I don’t really like any of those…they’re too popular for me. I guess if I had to pick I’d say [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Ava[/name_f], or [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_u]Hayden[/name_u].
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Ava[/name_f], but in combination w/another name…like [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_f]Sophia[/name_f], [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_f]Lucia[/name_f], [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_f]Lena[/name_f]
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u] goes great with [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] and is lovely on its own as well. It’s a name that’s heard of, but not too popular. It’s the best from your list! Very nice!
From your list, I like [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] with [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] the best. [name_m]Both[/name_m] are unisex yet Feminine. My second choice would be [name_u]Sydney[/name_u].
[name_f]Ava[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] are all lovely but [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] and any of them sound like a boy and a girl.
I am not fond of [name_u]Finley[/name_u] and [name_u]Hayden[/name_u].
I love [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]. Like [name_f]Ava[/name_f] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. Dislike [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u].
But, [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] is unisex so if it matters that the name styles match I’d go unisex.
Like
[name_f]Ava[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
Not a fan
[name_u]Hayden[/name_u]
[name_u]Sydney[/name_u]
[name_u]Finley[/name_u]
BUT when taking [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] into consideration, having a super-girly name for your other daughter doesn’t seem like a natural choice, So I’m not as fond of [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], [name_f]Ava[/name_f] or [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. Not sure if you would be bothered by both the first name and last name ending in an EE sound-- because that would rule out [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_u]Sydney[/name_u] & [name_u]Finley[/name_u] (as someone else mentioned).
Taken altogether, my favorite combos are:
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [1 or 3 syllable middle]
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is a boy’s name for me, so I don’t like it for a daughter.
I love [name_u]Sydney[/name_u] and [name_u]Finley[/name_u]! I know little girls with these names and they are adorable!
