We are expecting our 6th baby at the end of [name]April[/name]. We have three girls ([name]Emily[/name], [name]Ella[/name], [name]Molly[/name]) and two boys ([name]Josiah[/name], [name]Lucas[/name]). This will be our third boy!
I prefer old fashioned names that aren’t too common. We had no idea [name]Emily[/name] was as popular as it is when we chose it 15 years ago! Other than that one, none of our names have been in the top 50 when we picked them. Though several have raised significantly in popularity over the years.
We have been discussing a few names. I’d love your opinions, and any other suggestions you could throw our way.
[name]Samuel[/name]: [name]Love[/name] the NN [name]Sam[/name], but may be too popular. Of course, I only know a few grown-up Sams and 2 children.
[name]Theodore[/name]: [name]Love[/name] [name]Theo[/name] and [name]Teddy[/name] as NNs. Dh keeps bringing up the Chipmunks.
[name]Micah[/name]: Is the ending too similar to [name]Josiah[/name]? Only know one teenager named [name]Micah[/name].
[name]Theodore[/name] is very popular where I live, many Theos and Teddys. No one seems worried about the chipmunk thing here. But, out of your choices I like [name]Samuel[/name] best with your other kids names. It is popular, but it’s a classic.
Thank you both! I really like [name]Seth[/name], [name]Abram[/name], [name]Levi[/name], and [name]Gideon[/name]. My kids actually have been pushing for [name]Benjamin[/name], a name I also love. But, when my sister heard we were considering it, she announced that it is her boy name – for her future hypothetical child, if she decides to have a child. I’ve taken it off the list for now, but if we can’t agree on another name, I am going to have to have a talk with my sister
With our girls, we just knew when we found the right name. I even had dreams “announcing” the name to me for two of them! But, the boys have been harder. I appreciate your help!
[name]Samuel[/name] - I think it goes great with your other kids names! I didn’t have a clue that it was popular haha I have only met one [name]Samuel[/name] in my life. I would check to see how popular it is in your state.
[name]Theodore[/name] - I love the nn [name]Theo[/name]!!! But I don’t think it goes well with the other names

[name]Both[/name] were important biblical men but [name]Samson[/name] or [name]Sampson[/name] would allow you to bypass [name]Samuel[/name] and its popularity…
Personally I love [name]Samuel[/name] and don’t care at all how many other people share our good taste
What great ideas! I like [name]Adam[/name], [name]Noah[/name], [name]Isaac[/name], and [name]Ronan[/name] very much. I also like the idea of using [name]Samson[/name], but dh isn’t onboard, mainly because we have scrawny little babies
