Please help with final name choices!

I am pretty sure we have settled on [name]Elizabeth[/name]/[name]Elisabeth[/name] for a girl. We don’t know her nickname, but we actually still haven’t chosen a nickname for our [name]Genevieve[/name] yet (and she is almost 2), so I’m not terribly worried about it. Maybe she will look or act like an [name]Elsa[/name], or maybe it will be [name]Libby[/name] or [name]Eliza[/name].

I am needing help with a boy’s name. I have a feeling that this one is a boy, and I am just not loving any of our boy’s name choices. Our top 2 are [name]Theodore[/name] and [name]Sebastian[/name]. I like them both a lot and think they sound great in our sibset, but I have a hard time actually picturing them on a baby, especially [name]Sebastian[/name]. I also like [name]Elias[/name], but I like [name]Elijah[/name] more (and of course hubby doesn’t like [name]Elijah[/name]). I love the nickname [name]Eli[/name], but I’m not a huge fan of either of the long forms, especially [name]Elias[/name]. I am leaning more towards [name]Theodore[/name] right now, but I wondered if anyone had any other suggestions for me – something new or fresh that I may not have thought of before. Other names we have considered and pretty much eliminated are in my signature below.

Thanks for your help, berries!

I think [name]Theodore[/name] is such a great name. [name]Theo[/name] could not be a cuter nickname! I think it goes well with the other names too.

[name]Theodore[/name] really is growing on me. Plus it is a family name on my husband’s side. Sometimes it takes a long time for me to love a name. I didn’t love [name]Genevieve[/name] at first, but now I do. And I didn’t love [name]Elizabeth[/name] when I was pregnant with my other two girls, but now I really love it! The connection to Pride and Prejudice just puts it over the edge for me.

What about [name]Bastian[/name]? You could put [name]Bastian[/name] on name certificate and call him [name]Bay[/name]. I don’t like [name]Sebastian[/name], while [name]Bastian[/name] is ok to me.

I love [name]Elisabeth[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name]. For nicknames I prefer [name]Bizzy[/name]/[name]Betty[/name] and [name]Ted[/name].
What about
[name]Camilla[/name]/[name]Camelia[/name]
[name]Theodora[/name]/[name]Dorothea[/name]
[name]Natalie[/name]
[name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Vivienne[/name]

[name]Joseph[/name]
[name]Elisha[/name](I know somebody may mistake it for [name]Alisha[/name] but it’s still wonderful)
[name]Victor[/name]

I love [name]Sebastian[/name] and [name]Elijah[/name]! Thinking along the same lines as them, what about: [name]Tobias[/name], [name]Matthias[/name], Elyan, [name]Jeremy[/name] / [name]Jeremiah[/name], [name]Albert[/name], [name]Atticus[/name], [name]Alaric[/name], [name]Roman[/name], [name]Ryland[/name], [name]Westley[/name], [name]West[/name], [name]Joseph[/name], [name]Jacoby[/name], [name]Wilhelm[/name], [name]James[/name], [name]Henry[/name], [name]Vincent[/name], Niklaus / [name]Klaus[/name], [name]Oliver[/name] / [name]Olivier[/name], [name]Ellis[/name]? [name]Hope[/name] that has helped.

I love [name]Theodore[/name] and [name]Sebastian[/name], they both have tons of nickname possibilities: Thee, [name]Theo[/name], [name]Ted[/name], [name]Teddy[/name], [name]Ned[/name], [name]Odi[/name], [name]Dory[/name], [name]Seb[/name], Sebby, [name]Bastian[/name], [name]Tea[/name].
Have you thought of [name]Elliot[/name] to get to [name]Eli[/name]?

I don’t understand the phrase “I have a hard time picturing a name on a baby”. [name]How[/name] long are children babies? As humans, we spend most of our lives as adults so I think that image should be the main concern. [name]Do[/name] [name]Theodore[/name], [name]Sebastian[/name] and [name]Elias[/name] work for a mature man? Yep, they sure do. Parents should not only choose a name they love but one that can travel effortlessly from childhood to adulthood.

[name]Elias[/name] can be [name]Eli[/name] or [name]Ly[/name] when young
[name]Theodore[/name] can be [name]Teddy[/name] or [name]Theo[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name] could be called [name]Seb[/name] or [name]Bastian[/name]

I love [name]Theodore[/name]! I think it would go great with [name]Alexander[/name], [name]Madelyn[/name], and [name]Genevieve[/name]. And [name]Theodore[/name] is name he’ll grow into and it’s a nice masculine name. You said [name]Genevieve[/name] doesn’t have a nickname yet and I was wondering if you’d considered names like [name]Genny[/name], [name]Eve[/name], Or [name]Evie[/name]

[name]Elliot[/name]
[name]Ezekiel[/name]
[name]Felix[/name]
[name]Nathaniel[/name]

I really like [name]Theodore[/name], but I’m not a huge fan of [name]Sebastian[/name]. All I can think about is the little mermaid when I hear it. If you like [name]Eli[/name], how about [name]Elliot[/name]? Or [name]Elias[/name] is nice too! However, I think [name]Theodore[/name] fits best with [name]Alexander[/name], [name]Madelyn[/name], and [name]Genevieve[/name].

I love [name]Elliot[/name], but my husband has a cousin named [name]Elliot[/name]. :frowning: We might put it on our list anyway – he is 15 years younger than us and lives in a different state, so it probably wouldn’t be a huge issue, especially if we went with the nickname [name]Eli[/name]. Thanks for the suggestions! I think [name]Theodora[/name] for a girl is also growing on me!

I still like [name]Sebastian[/name] best for you but wanted to share the idea of [name]Thor[/name] as a nn of [name]Theodore[/name]. (It’s my total GP nn at the moment).
