I am expecting my first little girl and have been STRUGGLING to find a name that my husband and I can agree on. We both like older style names, but haven’t been able to agree on “the one.” So far we are contemplating the below names, but are definitely up for suggestions! We seem to both be very picky but in different ways! Can you please tell me your opinions on the below names? Our last name starts with B and is two syllables.
Edited to add: All three names are honor names, nothing we have to use, but like the idea of! Charlotte, Anne, and Eleanora (Actually spelled Ellanora but not sure about this uncommon spelling?)
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] are both extremely popular right now if that’s any concern to you. I prefer [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] to [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and I love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f]. Simple and sophisticated.
I find [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] really boring, sorry.
So my top pick is [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f], though [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f] would flow much better.
The popularity does concern me! I always said that I would never use a common name (As you see I’m a [name_f]Jen[/name_f] and have always have multiple Jennifers surrounding me!) but it seems that all of the names that my husband and I can agree on are pretty popular.
I prefer [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] to [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f]. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f] are both classic and nice. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is popular, but not as much as [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] was.
I love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], but I find the combo with [name_f]Anne[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] a little boring. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] might solve this, I find it a great combo.
From your list I love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], all your names are so classic and elegant and regal but [name_f]Anne[/name_f] doesn’t have as much spunk to me. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] would be beautiful though, if you would go for that.
I prefer the name [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f], but [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is nice, too. [name_f]Anne[/name_f] doesn’t seem to be the perfect pairing with it, but, if it’s an honor name, I would keep it or pair it with a compound or hyphenate middle. [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]-[name_f]Anne[/name_f] maybe.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f] pairs well, but it is quite popular. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] work.
Well there are many old and traditional names that may sound modern and are not particularly risky when it comes to spelling, bad pronunciation or popularity. I suggest [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] popular in roman times but hardly used nowadays also musical and maybe lucy or marie.
What about
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f]
[name_f]Lottie[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Lenore[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f]
I guess I should have mentioned that all three names are actually honor names! [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Anne[/name_f], and [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] (Actually spelled Ellanora but not sure about this uncommon spelling?)
