Please help with long list for girl names!

8 weeks pregnant and so excited about this baby!!! Of course, I don’t know yet if it’s a boy or girl but we are pretty good on the boy name side. For me settling on a girl name is a [name_m]WAY[/name_m] harder task. Below is a long list (sorry) of the names I’ve gathered that me and hubby are interested in for a little girl. We like multiple types of styles so narrowing it down is hard, and If we have a boy we like names like [name_m]Baker[/name_m], [name_m]Watson[/name_m], or [name_m]Ezra[/name_m]. Please help me gather ideas and thoughts on these names to narrow down our list or even add some suggestions, thank you! :revolving_hearts:

[name_f]Maya[/name_f] - hubby likes/ me I like but can’t see ya using it.
[name_u]Wren[/name_u] - I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] but hubby doesn’t like at all.
[name_f]Esme[/name_f] - both have liked a lot at some point but it has lost its appeal over time to me.
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] - we both like, it’s sweet but idk if it’s the right choice?
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]- I don’t know if I could see this on a baby.
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u]- we both love but is it too pretentious?
[name_f]Faye[/name_f]- ooo one of our newer faves, but is it too short for a first name?
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]- this ones been our list for awhile just don’t know if it’s a winner either.
[name_f]Willow[/name_f]- soft and unique, but is it too unique?
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]- a classic love of mine. [name_m]Don[/name_m]’t know if it’s suitable for 2020.
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] - right now this is my fav. But it’s number 21 in our state , and idk if I want my baby surrounded by a lot of others with her name. I just don’t personally know any Lunas?
[name_u]Stevie[/name_u] - my dads name is [name_m]Steve[/name_m] and I like [name_u]Stevie[/name_u], but is that weird?

Thanks for making it all the way through this long winded plea

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Isla[/name_f]-[name_u]Wren[/name_u]? That way you both get what you like. I’ve considered adding this to my list.

[name_f]Willow[/name_f] is lovely, I dont find it very out there.

I went to school with a girl named [name_u]Stevie[/name_u] so I think this is fine also.

I second the above posters suggested [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]. Very pretty. I also really like [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]. Super cute. Last, I love [name_u]Eloise[/name_u].

My sons name is Murphy!

My daughter Ruby

I 3rd Isla Wren!

Perhaps a comprise between Maya & Wren, Maren?? Maren Eloise would be amazing with Murphy

I feel like murphy needs a sister with spunk

Caroline Alice “Kit”
Eloise Luna “Ellie” “Lulu” “Lou”
Nora Willow
Faye Caroline

Also I love Stevie as a nickname not sure it fits with Murphy as a full name though. I do love that it honors your dad.

Perhaps:
Estelle Victoria “Stevie”
Stella Eve “Stevie”
Sylvia/Slyvie Teagan “Stevie”
Anastasia Ever “Stevie”

These all feel like they would be up your alley.

Farrah
Della/Delia
Etta
Lydia
Jocelyn “Josie”
Gemma
Tatum
Lorelei “Rory”
Celia
Tabitha “Tibby”
Ramona “Romy”
Talia
Kaia
Georgia “Georgie” “Gigi”

I’d lose:
[name_f]Maya[/name_f]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]

Either one of you doesn’t like them or you dont seem excited about them at all

[name_f]Luna[/name_f] is lovely -I’ve never met one either. [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] is georgous but approachable -i don’t think it’s pretentious
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] is cute, sweet and tough -it’s versatile
[name_f]Faye[/name_f] is light, airy and distinctive - not too short!
[name_f]Willow[/name_f] is lovely, warm and sweet! I’ve encountered a couple of Willows so i don’t think it’s too unique

I’d keep [name_f]Esme[/name_f], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and [name_u]Stevie[/name_u] in consideration too.

Some other suggestions:
[name_f]Lola[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Evie[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Kaia[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f]

I think [name_u]Stevie[/name_u] would make a good middle too. [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_u]Stevie[/name_u], [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_u]Stevie[/name_u] or [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_u]Stevie[/name_u] would be sweet.

[name_f]Maya[/name_f] - This is okay, nothing special though and if you don’t love it, perhaps you should lose it.

[name_u]Wren[/name_u] - Whilst I love how [name_u]Wren[/name_u] looks and sounds, I couldn’t imagine it as a first name. For me this is perfect middle, but I wouldn’t use it as a first.

[name_f]Esme[/name_f] - This is very sweet! However whilst I pronounce this as ez-mee, I hear ‘ez-may’ shouted out an awful lot.

[name_f]Nora[/name_f] - Also very sweet! Definitely one to keep in consideration.

[name_f]Alice[/name_f]- I think [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is gorgeous! It’s timeless, classic, and works on any age.

[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] - Definitely not too pretentious! If you both love it, put it to the top of the list

[name_f]Faye[/name_f] - [name_f]Faye[/name_f] is very pretty. I don’t think it’s too short. I’ve known a few [name_f]Faye[/name_f]'s and it’s just fine. It’s the same amount of letters and syllables as [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f], and they have worked fine as first names for a long time.

[name_f]Isla[/name_f] - This is okay. It’s sweet and appealing, but it’s nothing special to me. It’s also very popular atm.

[name_f]Willow[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Willow[/name_f]! About ten years ago I met a baby [name_f]Willow[/name_f] and at the time I thought, I like it, but it’s a bit out there. Now however, it’s much more heard of. I wouldn’t think it was strange at all to meet a little [name_f]Willow[/name_f].

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] - I agree this is outdated. It makes for a lovely middle though.

[name_f]Luna[/name_f] - [name_f]Luna[/name_f] has such beautiful imagery! I definitely wouldn’t say this is popular, but I’m in the UK so perhaps it’s different where you are. [name_f]Remember[/name_f] though, #21 today isn’t what it used to be. There are so many names out there that even the most popular names aren’t as popular as they used to be, if you know what I mean?

[name_u]Stevie[/name_u] - I love [name_u]Stevie[/name_u]! It’s very sweet and spunky. You could always use [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] and call her [name_u]Stevie[/name_u] for short.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about:

[name_f]Mia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_u]Eden[/name_u]
[name_f]Juno[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Harlow[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lois[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Nola[/name_f]
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]
[name_f]Elissa[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Nova[/name_f] (kind of a cross over of [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f])
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (could use [name_f]Nora[/name_f] as a nn)
[name_f]Lula[/name_f]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]

[name_u]Love[/name_u]- [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_u]Stevie[/name_u]
Like- [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], [name_f]Esme[/name_f], [name_u]Wren[/name_u], [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f]
Not me me- [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Maya[/name_f], [name_f]Faye[/name_f], [name_f]Willow[/name_f], [name_f]Luna[/name_f]

[name_u]Stevie[/name_u] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] would be stunning or even [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_u]Stevie[/name_u]. I’d also suggest [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], [name_f]Arwen[/name_f], [name_f]Nell[/name_f], [name_f]Ismay[/name_f], [name_f]Mina[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_u]Tully[/name_u], [name_f]Ada[/name_f], and [name_u]June[/name_u].

Wow thank you all for the amazing input. I’d say after going through your comments and talking them over with my husband, [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] are in the front for first name picks!

My friend is naming her baby [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], is [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] too close to that?

Not at all! Both [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] are gorgeous choices.

[name_u]Love[/name_u]: [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], and [name_f]Luna[/name_f]
Like: [name_u]Stevie[/name_u], [name_f]Willow[/name_f], [name_f]Faye[/name_f], [name_u]Wren[/name_u]
NMS: [name_f]Maya[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_f]Esme[/name_f], and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] could get a bit confusing, but honestly I don’t think it should be a dealbreaker. [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] could always be called [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] or [name_u]Lou[/name_u] for a nn instead of [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] to help make a distinction.
