please honestly tell me what you think

We are having a girl and I have always liked the name [name]Goldie[/name], middle name would be [name]Quinn[/name]. What are your thoughts on [name]Goldie[/name] [name]Quinn[/name]? Is it too unusual? We have some family members who are vocal on their likes & dislikes so I am worried what they will say OR should I say hey, I really like that name and not worry about it? If we don’t go with [name]Goldie[/name], her first name would be [name]Quinn[/name], but it is hard to come up with a middle name that flows with [name]Quinn[/name]. Thanks for your thoughts!

I love [name]Goldie[/name]! Personally I prefer [name]Marigold[/name] w nn [name]Goldie[/name] & [name]Marigold[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] flows really well while [name]Goldie[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] kind of runs into each other imo.

[name]Marigold[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] would definitely get some comments from my uptight family if I brought it up while pregnant but once the baby is here they back off & actually came to love my daughter’s “weird” name!

[name]Love[/name] the [name]Marigold[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] idea.

If you love it, go for it. There’s nothing offensive about it. [name]Quinn[/name] does seem pretty close to Hawn though. If it were me, I might want to add a little more heft to one of those names:

[name]Marigold[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] (nn [name]Goldie[/name])
[name]Gilda[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] (nn [name]Goldie[/name])
[name]Orla[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] (nn [name]Goldie[/name]. [name]Orla[/name] means “golden queen”)

[name]Goldie[/name] [name]Jacqueline[/name] ([name]Jacqueline[/name] has the Q,U,I,N, but is more substantial and less [name]Goldie[/name] Hawn than [name]Quinn[/name])

I like the [name]Marigold[/name] suggestion. [name]Marigold[/name] just seems to be more of a legitimate name than [name]Goldie[/name]. I know [name]Goldie[/name] is one, it just doesn’t seem like it is to me. [name]Goldie[/name] reminds me a lot of the [name]Goldie[/name] Locks and [name]Goldie[/name] Hawn. Which aren’t bad associations, but not inspiring either.

The neighborhood where I grew up had a back alley called [name]Goldie[/name] [name]Street[/name], and I think the name was tainted for me because of that. It just reminds me of a dark back alley. Lol. Sorry, not helpful.

I do really love [name]Quinn[/name] as a first name or a middle either way.

I think [name]Marigold[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] would be the best of both worlds. You still get [name]Goldie[/name] as a nickname, and [name]Marigold[/name] is a lovely, three-syllable first name that does not evoke [name]Goldie[/name] Hawn.

I would use [name]Quinn[/name] [name]Marigold[/name]…it flows better

I like [name]Marigold[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] or [name]Orla[/name] [name]Quinn[/name].

[name]Goldie[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] feels a bit odd but then neither are really my style - though I like [name]Quinn[/name] infinitely more than [name]Goldie[/name]. But [name]Marigold[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] sounds great.

[name]Marigold[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] is great.

[name]Goldie[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] reminds me of [name]Goldie[/name] Hawn

I really like both [name]Goldie[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] and [name]Marigold[/name] [name]Quinn[/name].

I like the idea of [name]Marigold[/name]. [name]Goldie[/name] is too nicknamey and seems too childish. I personally don’t like it since I went to the University of Minnesota, so all I picture is the Gopher Mascot ([name]Goldy[/name] Gopher) It’s also the typical name people name their goldfish, so that’s the next image I get.

Another option is [name]Goldia[/name]. You could still call her [name]Goldie[/name] as a NN.

Met a beautiful little [name]Goldie[/name] at daycare!! So cute I couldn’t stand it!! She was a blond little thing. If you have the opportunity to use it, please do! I love it so much!

[name]Quinn[/name] [name]Marigold[/name] is superb

[name]Goldie[/name] is cool. [name]Quinn[/name] is not my style but I get the appeal. I think [name]Quinn[/name] is too harsh of a name to go with [name]Goldie[/name] though.

[name]Marigold[/name] [name]Quinn[/name] or [name]Quinn[/name] [name]Marigold[/name] are both nice. I do not like [name]Goldie[/name] as a stand-alone name.

I like other golden names, like [name]Aurelia[/name], [name]Aurea[/name], [name]Aurielle[/name], [name]Orla[/name], [name]Orly[/name], [name]Cressida[/name], Chrysantha (‘golden flower’), [name]Orinda[/name], or [name]Rhiannon[/name].

[name]Goldie[/name] is too cutesy and informal. A childish nickname.

That’s exactly what I thought too  Also a Minnesotan.

My friend just had a [name]Quinn[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] and I think that’s beautiful! [name]Goldie[/name] isn’t my cup of tea but, if you love it go for it!

For her formal name, imo [name]Marigold[/name] is far superior to [name]Goldie[/name].
