Please provide all honest opinions and impressions of the names on our boys list. Whether they’re positive or negative.

We already have a son named [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] nn [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. We really only call him [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and have seriously considered changing his legal name to [name_m]Jack[/name_m] but our family is seriously against that. That’s a whole different issue though!

You have a very nice list. The only one I do not care for is [name_m]Roman[/name_m]. My favorites are [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], [name_u]Owen[/name_u], [name_m]Beckett[/name_m], [name_m]Archer[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], and [name_u]Blake[/name_u].

[name_u]Corbin[/name_u] … [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t really like the sound of this, not my taste maybe?

[name_u]Owen[/name_u]… [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_u]Owen[/name_u] but probably as a middle name more since its popularity is higher than I prefer

[name_m]Davis[/name_m]… I like it, cool flare, I think I like it as much as [name_m]David[/name_m], handsome, but would maybe choose [name_m]Davidson[/name_m] over [name_m]Davis[/name_m], then I could nickname him [name_m]Davis[/name_m], david, [name_m]Dave[/name_m], or anything and I wouldn’t feel limited.

[name_m]Grant[/name_m], ok, sort of boring, no offense

[name_u]Emmett[/name_u], surprised at how underused this handsome name is. It looks so good on paper and the sound is just alluring to me. Handsome and fresh.

[name_m]Roman[/name_m], would love to meet a boy name [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_m]Roman[/name_m] or just a little roman running about. I love this name as much as [name_u]Emmett[/name_u]. [name_u]Emmett[/name_u] [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] is a handsome combo, different but not too out there.

[name_m]Eli[/name_m], is ok. Not my thing. prefer [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] even though it is so popular.

[name_m]Beckett[/name_m] reminds me of bucket. Or wreck it. Or heck with it. Dislike this.

[name_m]Archer[/name_m], is ok. hate the nn [name_m]Archie[/name_m] though. [name_m]Alaric[/name_m] or [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m] please, I love those, just not [name_m]Archer[/name_m] if he will be known as [name_m]Archie[/name_m]. Sorry.

[name_u]August[/name_u] is awesome. [name_f]Love[/name_f] this month name. I dislike the nn [name_u]Gus[/name_u]. I would use Guster as the nickname even though some would think it is weird. Guster is the name of an a band from Massachusetts, lead singer does great vocals. [name_m]Austin[/name_m] is another option for a nickname. [name_u]August[/name_u] is a great fresh option instead of [name_m]Austin[/name_m], but I still like [name_m]Austin[/name_m].

[name_u]Noah[/name_u]. [name_f]Love[/name_f] it. Too popular for me to use. Middle name potential is high.

[name_m]Samuel[/name_m], never liked this. nerdy sounding, no offense. Plain and boring. [name_m]Samson[/name_m] or [name_m]Simon[/name_m] maybe, but not [name_m]Samuel[/name_m].

[name_u]Blake[/name_u], flake, lake, [name_u]Blake[/name_u]. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t like this, not bad, just not my style. I prefer [name_u]Blaine[/name_u], [name_u]Brett[/name_u], [name_m]Bryant[/name_m], or [name_m]Bennett[/name_m].

[name_m]Griffin[/name_m] remind me of the dog the Brussels griffin. it could be griffon when referring to the dog breed. It is an adorable breed with the cutest face ever, but the name seems trendy and dog like to me. No hard feelings.

All of these names seem nicely balanced, overall. [name_u]Corbin[/name_u] reminds me of [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] [name_m]Willis[/name_m]’ character [name_u]Korben[/name_u] [name_u]Dallas[/name_u] from The Fifth Element. [name_m]Archer[/name_m] sounds really hip and fresh, but I know in my community it would be seen as “weird”. I like it, myself, though. Have a little brother named [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], but he has always gone by [name_u]Sammy[/name_u]. Now that he’s 8, he prefers [name_u]Sam[/name_u], but he never really uses the full name. I love the name [name_m]Griffin[/name_m], partly for the unusual sound and partly because of the mythological ties. [name_m]Even[/name_m] Family [name_m]Guy[/name_m] hasn’t taken away that association for me. :slight_smile:
If your first son ever decides to use his full name, it might sound a little “matchy” for his brother to have a 2-syllable name that ends with “n”, but there’s really nothing at all wrong with that. It just depends on what style you prefer. :slight_smile: Good luck with your little one! :slight_smile:

[name_u]Corbin[/name_u] - Nice name, but I’m oversaturated on it right now.
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] - This is a solid name. It would go well with [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]/[name_m]Jack[/name_m].
[name_m]Davis[/name_m] - I like this as an alternative to [name_m]David[/name_m].
[name_m]Grant[/name_m] - I like this one. Sleek and handsome.
[name_u]Emmett[/name_u] - Not a fan.
[name_m]Roman[/name_m] - Not a fan.
[name_m]Eli[/name_m] - [name_f]Love[/name_f] this one.

You have a nice list. There are a few I don’t care for, but it’s only because of stylistic differences. For [name_m]Jack[/name_m]'s brother, I love [name_u]Owen[/name_u], [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], [name_u]August[/name_u], and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m].

Of your paired down list, I like [name_m]Beckett[/name_m] best but I’ve always had a soft spot one for that name since I’m a huge fan of [name_m]Conan[/name_m] O’[name_m]Brien[/name_m]. None of your names are bad, but my least favorites are [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] because it feels cartoonish due to the Family [name_m]Guy[/name_m] association and [name_m]Archer[/name_m] because that is also a cartoon, and it is trendy. Neutral on the rest.

[name_u]Corbin[/name_u]- meh. Isn’t there some guy who hosts a show about animals or home improvement with this name? That’s what it reminds me of.
[name_u]Owen[/name_u]- like it, but I liked it a lot more ten years ago.
[name_m]Davis[/name_m]- prefer [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] and [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] in terms of names that end is “s”

[name_m]Bennett[/name_m] is on my top five list for boys, so I love it! But I think [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], or [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] would go best with [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. Especially [name_m]Griffin[/name_m], because you could have a little [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_m]Griff[/name_m] :slight_smile: so handsome!

[name_u]Corbin[/name_u] - I don’t like this.
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] - [name_f]Love[/name_f] this name. It is widely used, but I don’t mind as much because it’s older.
[name_m]Davis[/name_m] - I think I prefer [name_m]David[/name_m]. Surnames are nice, but this one is very common in my area.
[name_m]Grant[/name_m] - I like it. [name_m]Gram[/name_m] is also nice.
[name_u]Emmett[/name_u]- This is okay.
[name_m]Roman[/name_m] - I’m on the fence.
[name_m]Eli[/name_m] - I love [name_m]Eli[/name_m]. It goes well on a baby and a man.
[name_m]Beckett[/name_m] - I like the literary reference, but I don’t like the trendy B names on boys (think [name_m]Braden[/name_m] and [name_m]Branden[/name_m] 10 - 20 years ago).
[name_m]Archer[/name_m] - I like this one quite a bit, though the nickname [name_m]Archie[/name_m] isn’t my favorite.
[name_u]August[/name_u] - This is one of the best rising boy names in my opinion.
[name_u]Noah[/name_u] - No. It doesn’t ring strong to me.
[name_m]Samuel[/name_m] - Much better than [name_u]Noah[/name_u] as far as biblical names. [name_u]Sam[/name_u] is just classic.

[name_m]Bennett[/name_m] – [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] this name. It’s on my own list. I also think it fits nicely with [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] ([name_m]Jack[/name_m]).
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] – Very nice, but not a perfect fit for [name_m]Jackson[/name_m].
[name_u]Emmett[/name_u] – [name_f]Love[/name_f] this name, seems like it’s popping up everywhere though.
[name_m]Eli[/name_m] – Works with [name_m]Jack[/name_m], but is too short for [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]. I do like the idea of using [name_u]Elliott[/name_u].
[name_m]Beckett[/name_m] – I like the surname feel of this with [name_m]Jackson[/name_m], but it’s not my favorite name. Too casual.
