[name]Edith[/name] is my favourite - I love [name]Edie[/name]!

I love [name]Edith[/name] with the nn [name]Edie[/name], it was on my short list for this pregnancy

[name]Love[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]! I think [name]Posey[/name] is absolutely adorable for it, but there are so many other fun nns if you don’t love [name]Posey[/name]. My second choice would be [name]Edith[/name], nn [name]Edie[/name]. I also like [name]Helen[/name], but prefer [name]Helena[/name]. Although it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, I love the idea of [name]Helena[/name] nn [name]Leni[/name]!

Good luck!

[name]Irene[/name] has been growing on me a lot lately, so I voted for that! But [name]Vivian[/name] is a close second.

[name]Edith[/name] is my favourite girls name at the moment! [name]Love[/name] it so much, as well as [name]Edie[/name].
Also [name]Helen[/name] is my mums name - so I think you have great taste.

I find all of these names to be quite dated and I’m not much a fan of either of them. While I do love the nickname of [name]Edie[/name], [name]Edith[/name] just makes me think of an elderly woman, as do [name]Vivian[/name], [name]Irene[/name] and [name]Marian[/name]. [name]Helen[/name] and [name]Josephine[/name] just feel so plain; bland.

Had [name]Helen[/name] been [name]Helena[/name], or [name]Irene[/name], [name]Irina[/name], one of those would have got my vote, but as they are, none jump out for me.

I’m really surprised how popular [name]Edith[/name] is. I wonder if it’s a UK thing (I’m in the U.S.), because I don’t see it being as popular here. We would definitely use the nickname [name]Edie[/name].

1 [name]Josephine[/name]
2 [name]Edith[/name]
3 [name]Irene[/name]

I like a lot of these! I chose [name]Josephine[/name], but I also like [name]Helen[/name], [name]Marian[/name], [name]Irene[/name], and [name]Edith[/name].

I love [name]Josephine[/name]! [name]Josie[/name] is an adorable nickname.

[name]Love[/name] [name]Edith[/name] - nn [name]Edie[/name] like the ultra popular [name]Evie[/name] (UK) but that bit different, and the meaning is so strong. Also like [name]Irene[/name] and [name]Marian[/name]. I find [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Helen[/name] bit 80’s if I can be completely honest and hope I don’t offend. I know quite a few girls my age with these names in the UK. And [name]Vivian[/name] makes me think of a (male) punk in the UK 80s sitcom ‘The [name]Young[/name] Ones’ Good luck!

[name]Every[/name] week I seem to lean towards something different, but these are the only names I keep coming back to, except for [name]Vivian[/name]. I admit I threw it in there just to put a more popular name in the mix to see how others would react. I like [name]Vivian[/name], but I don’t think I would actually use it.

DH has given me the green light to choose any name I want. They’re all family or ancestral names, except for [name]Helen[/name].

This week my favorite is [name]Edith[/name] ("[name]Edie[/name]"). Older brother is [name]Augustus[/name] ("[name]Gus[/name]"). Last name is very close to [name]Everett[/name]. Is [name]Edie[/name] [name]Everett[/name] too heavy on the E’s?

I voted for [name]Vivian[/name], what about [name]Vivienne[/name]?

I voted [name]Josephine[/name], and I think it would be fine with big brother [name]Augustus[/name]. [name]Vivian[/name] would be my second pick, but I feel it’d be a little short next to [name]Augustus[/name] - maybe [name]Vivienne[/name] would be a nice alternative?

[name]Edith[/name], [name]Helen[/name], [name]Josephine[/name], [name]Irene[/name] and [name]Vivian[/name].

[name]Vivian[/name] is my favorite by far, I like it best in full but nicknames [name]Viv[/name] and especially [name]Vivi[/name] are nice. I do prefer the spelling [name]Vivienne[/name], but either way I like it.

[name]Josephine[/name] is probably my second fave.

Not that fond of the others, although there is nothing wrong with them. I appreciate what I see as their vintage feel.

[name]Edith[/name] is OK, but for some reason I really love the nickname [name]Edie[/name], much more than most of the other vintage nickname names. I find it adorable.

I’m in the US, I believe Vivian and Josephine are the most common (they make top 100 in a few states) of these right now. Helen has a younger image in the UK because it was popular at a different time than in the US. Don’t think Edith and Irene have made a comeback yet, but wouldn’t be surprised if Edith/Edie gets more popular (because I’ve seen it discussed frequently on name boards). Which one do you love the best?

My favorite at the moment is [name]Edith[/name], nn [name]Edie[/name] (honoring a beloved grandmother). My only issues are that our last name begins with E (similar to [name]Everett[/name]) and the meaning (prosperous in war) isn’t ideal. I seem to be very hung up on meanings. A really negative meaning will turn me off completely.
