I am shortly expecting a little girl, who my husband and I have decided to name [name_f]Violet[/name_f], in honour of his grandma, [name_f]Vera[/name_f]. I couldn’t quite get on board with naming my child [name_f]Vera[/name_f] though so we have compromised with a name that shares her nickname, V (although we’ll probably call her [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] when little)
Our surname is [name_m]Davey[/name_m] so she will be [name_f]Violet[/name_f] ?_ [name_m]Davey[/name_m] - her 2.5 year old brother is called [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_u]Grey[/name_u].
I quite like the cadence of 2-1-2 syllables, like her brother has, but am also open to 2-3-2… yeah, I def overthink this shit If it’s relevant, we’re British on both sides so our name choices can’t be all that exotic. I guess our style is vintage classic with a little bit of a hipster twist (or maybe that’s just what we like to think ;))
I’ll put the ones I have on our shortlist in a poll for you to vote on. If you have any other suggestions also then please post them!
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]? I personally love the way the double v rolls of the tongue, and it would match the nickname ‘vivi’ well… [name_m]Just[/name_m] an option!
Other potentials/ideas:
Single syllable middle -
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] (love how it would rhyme with [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_u]Grey[/name_u]!)
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Mia[/name_f]
Three syllable middle-
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] (love,love,love this one)
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Camilla[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Everleigh[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]
