Looking for some name ideas based on names I like. Recently found out I am pregnant and feeling very blessed to get to name another child. I have a son already but I am not so bothered about name matching so that is not really a factor. It is a short name starting with an E
Names I like but have ruled out:
[name_u]Atlas[/name_u] - partner doesn’t like
[name_u]August[/name_u] - same
[name_u]Remy[/name_u]- names starting with R or too R heavy sounds awful with the accent in our area
[name_u]Jupiter[/name_u] - too out there
[name_m]Apollo[/name_m] - same
[name_u]Hayes[/name_u] - doesn’t work well in my language
Names we both like:
[name_u]Sidney[/name_u]
[name_m]Amias[/name_m]
[name_u]Amory[/name_u] - is it a girls name??
[name_m]Cedric[/name_m]
[name_m]Solomon[/name_m] - too religious for an atheist?
[name_m]Esai[/name_m]
What do you think about these names? Any suggestions on names similar in style that we might like?
Atlas - love this! Fresh and cool August - warm and friend Remy- gentle and lovely Jupiter -very bold but cool Apollo - i think nn [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] could make it more usable Hayes - I enjoy the sounds
Sidney - it has vintage charm Amias -bold and adventurous Amory - it’s traditionally a boy’s name. It’s a chamring name Cedric -soft but strong Solomon - it does feel very biblical but i don’t think it’s unusable Esai - intriguing
Atlas: I love this. It’s a shame your partner doesn’t!
[name_u]August[/name_u]: One of my absolute favourites.
[name_u]Remy[/name_u]: It’s a shame about the accent issue; this is another one of my favourite names.
[name_u]Jupiter[/name_u]: It is out there but it’s quite cool.
[name_m]Apollo[/name_m]: I love the name [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] and would actually consider it if my partner liked it (which, sadly, he doesn’t).
[name_u]Hayes[/name_u]: I’m not usually a huge fan of names of this style but I quite like [name_u]Hayes[/name_u]. It’s earthy and unusual without being too unfamiliar.
Sidney: This is a name I really dislike I’m sorry to say, especially on a boy. It’s just my personal opinion though.
[name_m]Amias[/name_m]: [name_m]Amias[/name_m] is cool, although I wonder what nickname you could use for it? Not that it necessarily needs one…
[name_u]Amory[/name_u]: I don’t mind this, although it does feel a tad feminine. I’m fairly sure it is a boys’ name though?
[name_m]Cedric[/name_m]: I’ve never been a big fan of this but it’s still a good, solid choice. It’s uncommon yet familiar, which is a plus in my opinion.
[name_m]Solomon[/name_m]: Yes, to me it is. I only know one baby [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] and his parents are quite religious.
[name_m]Esai[/name_m]: This is quite cool. It feels quite biblical though, which may bother you as an atheist. Still, there’s something appealing about [name_m]Esai[/name_m], even if I prefer [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m].
I like [name_m]Amias[/name_m] and [name_m]Cedric[/name_m] most from you list. You might like [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], [name_u]Julian[/name_u], [name_m]Marcus[/name_m] or [name_m]Leo[/name_m].
Sidney ~ a cool grandpa name I think it’s really spunky sounding and it’s great choice.

We live in [name_u]Sweden[/name_u], I’m Swedish and my partner is orginially from [name_u]West[/name_u] [name_f]Africa[/name_f]. Last name is u/u heavy and ends in an u-sound.
I love [name_m]Leander[/name_m], it’s a family name but not usable as a first because in my partners language it will sound very feminine.
It’s funny, both our son’s name and the runner up is on your list
I really like [name_m]Desmond[/name_m], [name_m]Wesley[/name_m], [name_u]Francis[/name_u], [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] and [name_m]Jerome[/name_m].
I love [name_m]Cassius[/name_m] and [name_m]Cassian[/name_m] but cass (mass) means bad or broken in Swedish so I’m unsure how usable it is.
Axel, [name_m]Walter[/name_m], [name_m]Ivan[/name_m], [name_m]Magnus[/name_m] is not usable because of family connections. [name_m]Leif[/name_m] is very sweet but also a name a lot of men between 40 and 60 have over here. It could be ready for a comeback…hmm
Cassandra is also used here and I also know someone who named their baby [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] just last year so maybe I’m overthinking it. It is a lovely name so good choice
Congratulations!
I really like [name_m]Cedric[/name_m] and [name_u]Sidney[/name_u] out of the names you both agree on. There are some themes in the names you listed so I will try to provide names that fit those these. I apologize for any repeats

[name_u]Parker[/name_u]
[name_u]Peyton[/name_u]

Sidney: Trends a little feminine for my taste and feels a bit dated
[name_m]Amias[/name_m]: [name_u]Love[/name_u] it. Unexpected, but familiar enough.
[name_u]Amory[/name_u]: Not just a girl’s name in my opinion. Definitely could work.
[name_m]Cedric[/name_m]: Very handsome and underused.

What about [name_m]Tobias[/name_m], [name_m]Benaiah[/name_m], [name_m]Roman[/name_m], [name_u]Axel[/name_u], [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u]?
Oslo is so cool but that name wouldnt be allowed as a name over here.
I like [name_m]Silas[/name_m], [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] and [name_m]Rodney[/name_m]. I do like [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m] a lot too, really like the name [name_f]Silvana[/name_f]/Sylvana for a girl so [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m] might work
