Hello!
I am an aspiring writer who joined nameberry just now.
I need a really aristocratic(upper class) girl’s name for a main character in my short novel.
Well, name that something like…hmmm…when you heard the name, you could directly think “oh she is probably upper class”.
Yet she is a lovely and fascinating girl, so it shouldn’t be a snobby name or stuffy name or a trying-to-be upper class name.
Also I hope it has some romantic feel and if possible, not a popular name.
Sorry for my poor explanation and please suggest me some nice names that perfectly fit my criteria.
I appreciate your kindness
[name]Cassandra[/name], [name]Evangeline[/name], [name]Wilhelmina[/name], [name]Theresa[/name], [name]Virginia[/name], [name]Henrietta[/name], Calanthia, [name]Christina[/name], [name]Tatiana[/name], [name]Vivienne[/name]? I began a story centred around the disregarded daughter of aristocratic parents and this was the short list I can up with, hope this has given you some ideas
Some of the girls from the peerage of the United Kingdom I know/have heard of, are called:
[name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Cosima[/name]
[name]Isabelle[/name]
[name]Jemima[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Rose[/name]
[name]Fenella[/name]
[name]Georgina[/name]
[name]Tamara[/name]
[name]Edwina[/name]
I think you need a name that readers can pronounce without looking at it and thinking they’ve never seen that name before. Something familiar and classy. Some ideas that come to mind:
[name]Alexandria[/name]
[name]Katerina[/name]
[name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Abigail[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name]
[name]Michaela[/name]
[name]Emilia[/name] or [name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Francesca[/name]
I think this is a really great suggestion.
I definitely see this name becoming as big a posh name as [name]Georgina[/name] and [name]Cosima[/name] are.
