I recently saw the name [name_u]Poe[/name_u], for a girl. I think it is absolutely adorable, but I’m not sure it can stand alone. I don’t really like names like [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] or [name_f]Posey[/name_f], not my style. I kinda like [name_f]Persephone[/name_f], but that might be a stretch for [name_u]Poe[/name_u]. Any other names with nn [name_u]Poe[/name_u], or can it stand alone? Thanks.

[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was [name_f]Posey[/name_f] but you said you don’t like that so then I immediately went to [name_u]Poet[/name_u] or [name_f]Poem[/name_f]. I also think it’s not really a stretch for [name_f]Persephone[/name_f]. A fun one could be using [name_u]Poe[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_u]Raven[/name_u]. But I do think [name_u]Poe[/name_u] can easily stand on its own, and I think it’s a really cool name that’s not expected but also not out there.

Thank you! I hadn’t thought about [name_u]Raven[/name_u], but that’s actually really cute. I suppose one could do the same with [name_f]Annabel[/name_f], or maybe even [name_f]Lenore[/name_f].

I don’t think it can stand alone. I think [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] would be a good full name for it.

I think it can stand alone! It’s cute but has a literary weight behind it and a slightly dark edge, thanks to the [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] [name_u]Poe[/name_u] connection.
[name_m]Long[/name_m] forms I like include [name_f]Paloma[/name_f], [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], [name_u]Penrose[/name_u], [name_u]Poet[/name_u], [name_f]Apolline[/name_f], [name_f]Pomeline[/name_f], [name_f]Pandora[/name_f], Polly… maybe even [name_f]Sappho[/name_f] (if you’re feeling brave!) [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] definitely works.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] be warned that [name_u]Po[/name_u] has a rude meaning in [name_m]German[/name_m].
