Of these names, [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] flows the best. I like the meaning behind [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] that you shared. I also think that [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f] sound lovely together.
I agree that [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] sounds nice (I love the NN [name_u]Rory[/name_u]) but it seems hard to say [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] together. Is it just me? I guess I am just thinking like when someone says “What are your daughters names?” and you respond “[name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]” Oh well - it isn’t a deal breaker.
I also like [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] and [name_u]Winter[/name_u] but [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] seems to R heavy.
I really like Ruby, Poppy or Juniper as firsts. But Aurora Genevieve is beautiful too!
The only one i didn’t really like was Winter Aurora. Because winter is Aurora season. It seems like a phrase more than a name to me. Yet somehow, Aurora Winter works.
But I live in Alaska and maybe if i was elsewhere I wouldn’t feel that way.
Before I even saw the poll options, I thought [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]…[name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] sound perfect together [name_f]IMO[/name_f], but I’m not so sure I like the flow of [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], it’s just too much of that R sound, it doesn’t flow nicely off the tongue when you say it, and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] sounds lovely too. Are you open to using two middles perhaps? [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]?
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f] are also nice together, and if you’re a nickname person you could call her [name_u]Rory[/name_u] - [name_u]Rory[/name_u] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f] perhaps?
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is also another option combining both names.
What is [name_f]Isla[/name_f]'s middle name? Considering that might also help you make a decision.
I say go for the personal sentiment with [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] or [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]. FWIW, my favorite nicknames for [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] are [name_f]Ginny[/name_f], [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] and Vee, and I think either first sounds great with [name_f]Isla[/name_f].
WOW!! Great names…I voted for them all except [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]…not really my style…but I think [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] or [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] hold more meaning for you…but I do love the name [name_u]Winter[/name_u] too.
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] immediately stood out to me. I also really like [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] but don’t like the flow of [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f].
Although I agree with others that [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] sound like natural sisters, I believe the meaning of [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] to you trump that.
I voted for [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] over [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] for the following reasons
(1) I think it has better flow
(2) You avoid the problem of [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]'s nn’s
(3) I find [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] to be better matched than [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f].
Thank you all for your help! I think you’ve confirmed our top two- [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. Now maybe we’ll just wait and see when we meet her! And hopefully none of the million of my friends who are pregnant with girls will use either of those…
