I vastly prefer [name_f]Bethany[/name_f]! Have you considered [name_f]Bethan[/name_f] though? It’s a Welsh form of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], but it has the “an” at the end, and honours both a little more clearly than [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] might. [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] is nice as well, it’s just not for me.

@lawsonhaley, thank you for your comments! [name_f]Bethan[/name_f] is really pretty. [name_m]How[/name_m] do you pronounce it?

I was going to suggest [name_f]Bethan[/name_f] too as it is relatively common in my area and I was surprised that it’s rarer elsewhere. It’s pronounced [name_f]BETH[/name_f]-un, just like the start of [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] but without the y.

Thank you, @amberdaydream. [name_f]Bethan[/name_f] is a nice alternative!

It’s essentially [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] without the y; [name_f]BETH[/name_f]-an. How to pronounce Bethan? (RECOMMENDED) - PronounceNames.com

Of your options, I like [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] better. I think I like [name_f]Bethan[/name_f] best, though.

Thanks for your help, everyone.

I prefer [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f]
to me [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] sounds like either an old lady or an annoying teenager, whereas [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] sounds more classy, sweet and cute
However I do prefer [name_f]Bethany[/name_f]'s nicknames if that matters

Definitely [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] for me. I really liked the [name_u]Percy[/name_u] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] character, and the strong, feisty feel I get from [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] as a result. Such a great name!

I prefer [name_f]Bethia[/name_f] or [name_f]Bethan[/name_f].

I voted [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f], but I really love [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] too… it was so hard to choose! Like pp, I like [name_f]Bethan[/name_f], but I pronounce it [name_f]Beth[/name_f]-[name_f]ANN[/name_f]. I’d never heard it [name_f]BETH[/name_f]-an before, but it’s very pretty! I love each of these names! Can’t go wrong

I like both [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Bethany[/name_f], but I like [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] better as an entire name. I love [name_f]Anna[/name_f]- names, but I don’t really like [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] as a full name as much as I love [name_f]Bethany[/name_f]. I don’t know if that makes sense?! It is rather random haha. My vote goes to [name_f]Bethany[/name_f]!

Yes, @ashthedreamer, your comment makes sense! Thank you for weighing in. I also love [name_f]Anna[/name_f] names.

[name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] always sounds like a bit of a mash-up to me, so I prefer [name_f]Bethany[/name_f]. [name_f]Bethan[/name_f] is a lovely suggestion too though, or another Welsh option from the same root: [name_f]Betsan[/name_f]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] that one - I think it’s cute, quirky and strong all at once.

It’s interesting how [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] is so far ahead of [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] in the poll. Hmm…

I like [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] best. Or [name_f]Bethan[/name_f] as suggested by another commenter.

I prefer [name_f]Bethany[/name_f]. [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] feels too perky and high school cheerleaderish to me, whereas [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] feels very sweet and serene.

I voted [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f]. It sounds fresher and more modern to me. Plus, I think it accentuates the two honor names better. [name_f]Ann[/name_f] is more prominent in [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] to me and I like how both [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] end in the same sound. [name_f]Bethany[/name_f] is a lovely name but I just slightly prefer [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] especially to honor [name_f]Ann[/name_f] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].
