With your help I’ve managed to get my Asa options down to 5 - would love to know your favorite! I’m especially curious which feels the most like my imagery of Asa:
He reminds me of the ocean depths and I envision a little boy with a big heart lying in a hammock at sea, one leg swinging in the air off the edge of the hammock, tracing constellations with his eyes and dreaming big dreams. I love that Asa feels like he has a deep, sort of old soul. I love that he feels like he is not just surface level. He’s got depth and complexity to him. I imagine an Asa would be creative and inventive and intelligent and kind and community is bred into his heart. He always puts others above himself. He’s the kind of adult you can just come into their presence and feel utterly seen and completely loved. He makes everyone and everything around him better. He cares about the smallest creature. Adventure, kindness, and wisdom are bred in his heart in equal measure.
ETA: Also reconsidering Asa David, but the poll won’t let me add it - I know it feels very different from most of these, but what are your thoughts on him vs. Asa Seamus, Asa Shepherd, and Asa Shiloh?
I particularly like [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] and [name_f]Shiloh[/name_f] because the “Sh-” breaks up the “s” sounds in the name! And I agree with the previous commenter [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Asa[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] is a gorgeous name!
[name_m]Asa[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] is so fitting for your imagery and I agree with @emeraldsea[name_f][/name_f] that it is as handsome as can be. I thought I’d vote for this, then [name_m]Asa[/name_m] [name_f]Shiloh[/name_f] pierced my heart as I read it! I think it’s the perfect, special middle for the imagery you have for [name_m]Asa[/name_m].
[name_m]Asa[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] gets my vote! I think it fits your description perfectly and also flows really well.

[name_m]Seamus[/name_m] absolutely gives me the same feeling (it reminds me of the blue and gray sea, [name_f]Irish[/name_f] cliff sides, wool sweaters, and sheep) but I find it a little too tongue-twistery with [name_m]Asa[/name_m], I think because I also pronounce the vowels almost the same way.

[name_f][/name_f] I’ve been leaning toward [name_m]Asa[/name_m] [name_f]Shiloh[/name_f] but [name_f]Shiloh[/name_f] for me brings up images of wheat fields waving in the wind, so while [name_m]Asa[/name_m] still feels blue as ever, adding [name_f]Shiloh[/name_f] to it feels more like the wide open skies of the midwest US? [name_f][/name_f] Which I don’t love quite so much. [name_f][/name_f] But [name_m]Asa[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] also brings to mind images of grazing sheep on verdant hills. [name_f][/name_f] The only one that truly keeps the imagery I have is [name_m]Asa[/name_m] [name_m]Seamus[/name_m], and as @EagleEyes[name_f][/name_f] said, I find [name_m]Seamus[/name_m] too tongue twistery with [name_m]Asa[/name_m].

I think [name_m]Asa[/name_m] [name_m]Sterling[/name_m] and [name_m]Asa[/name_m] [name_m]Simeon[/name_m] are eliminated, safe to say [name_f][/name_f]- I like them but they don’t feel as right as [name_f]Shiloh[/name_f], [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m], or [name_m]Seamus[/name_m]. [name_f][/name_f] I’m stubbornly clinging on to [name_m]Seamus[/name_m] for now even though I don’t think he’s right with [name_m]Asa[/name_m], unfortunately. [name_f][/name_f] I’m also reconsidering [name_m]Asa[/name_m] David… [name_f][/name_f] which is very simple but I do like it a lot. [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Will[/name_m] attempt to update the poll to see if it’ll let me, ha.
@ashthedreamer[name_f][/name_f] I know I’m late, I’m sorry! I just want to say that I LOVE [name_m]Asa[/name_m]. All of your opinions are beautiful, I really don’t think you can go wrong. But I went with [name_m]Asa[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m]. Those are two of my absolute favorite boys’ names!
