I love your options! The names of your sons have (in my opinion) a distinctly southern feel, which is really lovely. ([name_u]Everett[/name_u] is my pick if I have another boy.) I think [name_u]June[/name_u] and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] best fit that theme. I voted for [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] because it’s a little more tailored, like your son’s names, but I really can’t decide between them.
I voted for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] as it fits the pattern of 2 names starting with S then 2 names starting with E. For me that really stuck out. I also love the short forms of [name_f]Elle[/name_f]/[name_f]Ellie[/name_f].
I’m a huge fan of [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] nn [name_f]Nell[/name_f].
@rukiayuzu thank you! i love your description of the feeling you get from our boys’ names! i am so glad you like georgia. it’s one of my top two! i appreciate your thoughts.
@kaiajade thank you for responding! eleanor is one of my top two names!
@cbuxton nell is my favorite eleanor nn! thanks for taking the time to respond!
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] is my favorite, followed by [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. All 5 names are lovely!!! I had such a hard time deciding. You have wonderful taste.
I picked [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] because to me the names you picked for your boys have a spunky nature feel to them that [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] matches with. My second favorite is [name_f]Georgia[/name_f].
I adore [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]! Plus, you have two S names and one E name and adding another E name would round it out perfectly. I love the sound of all four together!!
I think [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] or [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] fits best with your fun-loving boys names.
Like many I voted for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] because it follows the pattern, but also because it’s one of my favourite names ever. My second choice would be [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] (it’s been growing on me lately!) and the third would be [name_u]June[/name_u]
@tamparays8 wow, such kind words, thank you!
@la78 oh nature feel. love that description. we love spending time outside and being active. thanks for your input!
@hilary_jeanne i appreciate you taking the time to respond! i am definitely considering that pattern.
@grackym my boys are certainly spunky, so a “fun-loving” girl name would be a good thing. thank you!
@mother_dragons thank you! i love hearing your other faves since you could only vote for one.
goodness, i am blown away by responses! thanks to everyone for giving me something to think about.
My favourite names out of your choices are [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], for their simple yet feminine sounds. However I voted for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] because when I say them out loud [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] sounded the best with your boys names, plus I have a soft spot for Sibsets that have patterns (I.e 2 S names and 2 E names) and the nickname [name_f]Nell[/name_f]. [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m], [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u], [name_u]Everett[/name_u] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is such a lovely sibset.
@lulu82 Thanks so much for the input! I also love the nn [name_f]Nell[/name_f]
I voted for [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] because of how well it goes with your boys’ names. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_u]June[/name_u] are my other favourites for the same reason. You have beautiful taste and beautifully named children!
My favorites are [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], and [name_u]June[/name_u], and it was really hard to pick between the three.
I like [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] because, as a pp mentioned, you have two kids with S names, so two with E names makes sense.
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is one of my very favorite names and I think fits well with your boys ([name_u]Everett[/name_u] and [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] are on my long-list too).
And I thought [name_u]June[/name_u] was a sweet little name for a girl following three older brothers, who I’m guessing would watch out for her.
@naomiaurora thanks for your kind words!
@oftenoverseas ah thanks for taking the time to write out a thoughtful response!
Saying the sibling set names out loud and adding each girl name at the end, [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] sounded the best to me. However, after reading the comments the two “S” beginning names would be paired nicely with a pair of “E” beginning names. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] makes for cute nick names [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] and [name_f]Elle[/name_f], but I didn’t see that it has a meaning.
You mentioned you were in to name meanings, out of curiosity what name on your list has your favorite meaning? I looked up each one and nothing in particular jumped out to me.
I think all of your names have a slightly southern feel to them, so I picked [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] would work well too, and I love the nickname [name_f]Elle[/name_f] with some of your boy names!
@aerovis thanks for your thoughts!
here is a link to a post i had back when we were expecting everett. it explains in more details why we picked the names shepherd and sawyer for our boys and why we named the baby we miscarried, rose. Nameberry - Welcome to the Nameberry Forums)
after you read that:
we then chose everett (when we found out we were expecting a BOY!)- his name means strong and brave. We want him to know that the [name_m]Lord[/name_m] is his strength, and for him to be bold and brave.
soooo, all that to say we love these names because… (p.s. this is a short explanation of each)
eleanor- meaning “light”. The [name_m]Lord[/name_m] is our light. [name_m]John[/name_m] 8:12
georgia- means “farmer”. Scripture uses parables or descriptions referencing farming/harvesting/cultivating/planting
ivy- “I am the vine, you are the branches…” [name_m]John[/name_m] 15
josephine- means “the [name_m]Lord[/name_m] increases” so this child would be a blessed addition to our family. and my mom and my late meme’s middle names is/was jo.
june- just think it’s a spunky southern yet feminine name. i just like it, ha.
thanks for asking that question as well as taking the time to look up the names!
thanks @kathalowe i like the southern feel
