Want a name for brother for Lucy. Style is vintage classic. Was going to use George but just got taken by family member :(. Also cannot use Henry.

TY

I cannot choose between [name_m]Alfred[/name_m] and [name_m]Albert[/name_m]!

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] make a great set!!!

If I had to rank them, fave (1) to least (6):

  1. [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]
  2. [name_m]Alfred[/name_m]
  3. [name_m]Frank[/name_m]
  4. [name_m]Albert[/name_m]
  5. [name_u]Francis[/name_u]
  6. [name_u]James[/name_u]

I like Alfred, Albert & Samuel the best. Samuel’s probably the best match (and I love Sam) while the other two are more obviously vintage. Maybe Albert over Alfred just because Alfie is so popular - could use Alby.

James would be a refreshing choice - less obviously vintage but a truly classic (and surprisingly not super common) name.

I adore the name Francis but don’t at all like Frank so I’d use it as a middle. It flows so nicely in second spot. Frankie is also to me pretty much captured as a “girls’ name”.

What about Frederick or even Wilfred? Gives Fred/ Freddie and Wilfred means you have Will/Wilfy too.

I personally feel like [name_m]Albert[/name_m] and [name_m]Alfred[/name_m] are a little to old, but [name_m]Alfred[/name_m] with the nickname [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] wouldn’t be bad at all. I love [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] [name_u]Francis[/name_u] doesnt sound bad at all either. [name_f]My[/name_f] neice is also [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], but her brothers are [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] and [name_m]Peter[/name_m].

I forgot to mention, [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is named after PGM, [name_m]Frank[/name_m] was also a grandparent (hence Francis) … idk if that changes things but We also very much love [name_m]Samuel[/name_m].

I like [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] best! I would use [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] myself but my name is [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] so I think that would be weird :joy:

This is difficult because not only do I love all of your boy name options, but they are all a perfect fit with sister [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]! Objectively, I think [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] is my favorite, but I like [name_u]Francis[/name_u] nn [name_m]Frank[/name_m] / [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] more because of the family connection!
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] & [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] or [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] & [name_u]Frankie[/name_u]

[name_m]Alfred[/name_m] NN [name_u]Alfie[/name_u]!

I really like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] & [name_u]James[/name_u]!
[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] combo of classics.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite would also be [name_u]George[/name_u]! Maybe you could still use it as a middle?

  1. [name_u]James[/name_u] - such a handsome masculine strong name! And usually used as a middle? So more rare as a first? If I would have a son and I would want to do honour names (not my thing though, but my bf is super into it), I would use [name_u]James[/name_u].

  2. [name_m]Frank[/name_m] - strong masculine sound, I like it.

  3. [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] - soft feel. I like it, but I perhaps prefer [name_m]Simon[/name_m].

  4. [name_u]Francis[/name_u] - also a soft feel. I really love [name_f]Frances[/name_f], the feminine version.

  5. [name_m]Alfred[/name_m] - I absolutely looove [name_m]Fred[/name_m], so I prefer the shorter version.

  6. [name_m]Albert[/name_m]

Maybe you’d also like [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] (nn [name_m]Thor[/name_m] :star_struck:), [name_m]Theodor[/name_m], [name_m]Wilfred[/name_m], [name_m]Anthony[/name_m], [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], [name_m]Richard[/name_m], [name_m]Rikard[/name_m], [name_u]Christian[/name_u], [name_u]Edward[/name_u], [name_m]Edmund[/name_m], [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], [name_m]Dominic[/name_m], [name_m]Cornelius[/name_m], [name_u]Florian[/name_u], [name_m]Nicolas[/name_m], [name_m]Claus[/name_m], [name_m]Cormac[/name_m], [name_m]Benedict[/name_m], [name_u]Tristan[/name_u], [name_u]Robert[/name_u], [name_m]Hendrick[/name_m], [name_m]Carl[/name_m], [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u], [name_u]John[/name_u], [name_m]Victor[/name_m], [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u], [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m], [name_m]Alaric[/name_m], [name_u]Daniel[/name_u], [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m], [name_m]Marcus[/name_m], [name_m]Marc[/name_m], [name_m]Peter[/name_m], [name_m]Alistair[/name_m], [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m], [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u], [name_m]Laurent[/name_m], [name_m]Graham[/name_m], Geraldt, [name_m]Caius[/name_m]

Francis (nn Frank), James or Samuel are the best with Lucy, and excellent names. Choose whichever of those you love the most. If Francis is a grandfather (particularly of yours), consider using it as the middle if not the first. If looking for other suggestions: Thomas, or perhaps you might consider Finn, which I’ve seen suggested as a nn or honour for Francis - also goes well with Lucy. Or Edward?
