I love it! It sounds very masculine to me. I don’t think anyone will think you had a girl when you tell them his name. Great choice! :slight_smile:

[name_m]Callen[/name_m] is definitely a boy’s name. Especially with sisters named [name_f]Eileen[/name_f] and [name_f]Moira[/name_f], I wouldn’t assume [name_m]Callen[/name_m] was a girl. I’ve noticed that people tend to assume that any name that’s unfamiliar to them is a girl’s name. I’m not sure why.

I have friends named [name_u]Calen[/name_u], Callyn, and [name_f]Colleen[/name_f] so I can see [name_m]Callen[/name_m] fitting in easily with those as a girls’ name. That said, I could easily seeing it fitting in with boys’ names like [name_m]Callum[/name_m] and [name_m]Collin[/name_m]. I think with any non-mainstream name you may have a tiny bit of confusion here and there over whether someone is a boy or girl before meeting him. I don’t know if that’s necessarily a bad thing, though. I actually like [name_m]Kellan[/name_m] is a little more clearly male to me, but that’s likely because I know of a man named [name_m]Kellan[/name_m].

I’d think [name_m]Callen[/name_m] was a boy at first. It can fit for a girl, but my initial instinct would be “boy.”

The first [name_m]Callen[/name_m] I ever met was a girl so it definitely feels unisex to me.
I can see it feeling more masculine to most people though.

I would have never thought of [name_m]Callen[/name_m] as a girl’s name, it is all boy to me. [name_m]Callen[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] is very handsome.

[name_m]Callen[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] is very strong and manly. I would never think a [name_m]Callen[/name_m] was a girl.

Thanks so much for the input…I’ve never met a [name_m]Callen[/name_m] so it’s great to hear the experiences of others. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband actually said," I’ll have to think about it" which is the most positive he’s been on any of my suggestions to date. Maybe, just maybe, we have a winner(-;

[name_m]Callen[/name_m] and [name_m]Kellan[/name_m] are both all boy to me. For some reason I thought it was spelled [name_m]Callan[/name_m], but doesn’t matter. [name_m]Callen[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] is super handsome – I love it!

I know of two boys named [name_m]Callan[/name_m], haven’t seen it spelt [name_m]Callen[/name_m] but either way I agree that it’s definitely a boys name

Thanks all! So happy to see that most think it’s a boy’s name. I’m not sure if we’ll spell it [name_m]Callen[/name_m] or [name_m]Callan[/name_m]. I think I might like [name_m]Callan[/name_m] better after all!
