Two such lovely names. It is literally like choosing between apples and oranges.
One of these names is deeply personal to me (the one I voted for): [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. All of the generations of the women in my family have grown the beautiful and intensely fragrant winter/spring shrub, the daphne odora. I named one of my first dolls Daphne. I named an imagined daughter [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] when I was small. I named my beloved calico cat, my cat of cats, [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f] on the witty [name_m]Frasier[/name_m]. I love the writing of [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] du Maurier. I know a lovely librarian named [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. Daphne was the name of one of the Regency romance characters in Marion Chesney’s hysterically funny Six Sisters series.
And then there’s the also beautiful [name_f]Delphine[/name_f], never known anyone of this name, though I do believe there’s a famous [name_u]French[/name_u] actress with the name.
So many names come down to personal connections!
To me, [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is so pretty and gardeny and [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] is elegant and sophisticated.
I chose [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. I have never liked [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] unfortunately, I went to school with a few and none of them were particularly friendly.
I love the clunky but cute [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
I went with [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] but it’s incredibly close.
Definitely [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]! [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is nice, but I think [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] is one of the most gorgeous names.
I love them both! Lately I’ve been loving [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] in particular, it’s so ethereal, while [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] has a bit more kick.
I absolutely love [name_f]Daphne[/name_f].
[name_f]Delphine[/name_f] always reminds me of Dolphin.
I prefer the sound of [name_f]Delphine[/name_f].
But the reason why I don’t like the sound of [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is, [name_f]Defne[/name_f] is a very common name where I live so [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] sounds “wrong” to me. But it’s a nice name.
