If it is hyphenated, people will know that she goes by both whereas if it is not hyphenated (and [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is put as the middle name), she will constantly be called just [name_f]Lucie[/name_f].
I really like the look of [name_f]Lucie[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f], even though that’s not one of the options.
I would go with [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]. You can call her [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] all the time, I don’t think you need an hyphen for that. In my opinion it just difficults the paper work. Besides that, when she gets older, she may decide if she wants to be called [name_f]Lucie[/name_f]/[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] or just [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].
I would spell it [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
I would go with [name_f]Lucie[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f], you’d both be getting a bit of what you want.
No hyphen and [name_f]Mae[/name_f] would just be forgotten as the middle.
I agree with pp’s - if you forgo the hyphen, it will read as first and middle on most documents (school registers and such).
I love both options but I do admit I prefer [name_f]Lucie[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f]!
I only like [name_f]Lucie[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f].
Thanks everyone.
