I vote for [name]Lydia[/name]! [name]Lydie[/name] is a cute nn for [name]Lydia[/name]…

They are both beautiful names but I gave my vote to [name]Lydia[/name].

[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Kate[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Belle[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Sage[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Niamh[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]June[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Joy[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Faith[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Greer[/name]

[name]Sylvia[/name] seems much more spunky to me. [name]Lydia[/name] feels very calm and sedate, it’s not my taste. [name]Sylvia[/name] gets my vote!!

I love them both so much but I voted for [name]Sylvia[/name], mostly because I know a lot of [name]Lydia[/name]'s, they are all lovely people, it just seems more of a popular name where I live whereas [name]Sylvia[/name] doesn’t seem as heard of.

I don’t think you can go wrong either way!

I really love both of them, but like previous posters have said, [name]Lydia[/name] is getting quite popular nowadays. ([name]Sylvia[/name] is going down rather than up, which I don’t understand, but that doesn’t stop me from loving that fact! [name]Sylvia[/name] is like the UNdiscovered version of [name]Sophia[/name].) [name]Lydia[/name] also has no clear nickname, other than “[name]Lydie[/name]”, which reminds me of jar lids or whatever. You could use [name]Lia[/name] but it’s a stretch, and the name [name]Lia[/name]/[name]Leah[/name] itself is suddenly extremely popular…
[name]Sylvie[/name] is an adorable nickname and a point for [name]Sylvia[/name]'s side, as both names are a bit of a mouthful.

I don’t know if this matters to you, but I also love [name]Sylvia[/name]'s meaning. [name]Lydia[/name] is the name of an ancient city, which is cool, but not the type of meaning I swoon over
[name]Sylvia[/name] means “from the forest” which I just love!!

A name that reminds me of both of these is [name]Adele[/name]/[name]Adela[/name]/all the variations.

Anyway both [name]Lydia[/name] and [name]Sylvia[/name] are classic, gorgeous names (and favourites of mine) and you really can’t go wrong! Good luck!

Definitely [name]Sylvia[/name]!

I love [name]Lydia[/name] but its becoming to popular so I chose [name]Sylvia[/name]

I [name]LOVE[/name] both names. [name]Lydia[/name] and [name]Sylvia[/name] are both on my top 5. I voted for [name]Sylvia[/name] just to tie it up (sorry!) but I could have just as easily voted for [name]Lydia[/name]!

Go definitelly for [name]Sylvia[/name]![name]Sylvie[/name] or [name]Silvie[/name] is really cute and an adorable nickname !
You know what? My name is [name]Silvie[/name] and I just love this name so go for it !

I voted for [name]Lydia[/name] but I absolutely love [name]Sylvie[/name] whereas I only feel lukewarm about [name]Sylvia[/name].

[name]Lydia[/name] is my favorite.

[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Grace[/name]*
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Paige[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Rose[/name]*
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Claire[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Hope[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Anne[/name]

Can I just say that I love the name [name]Silvie[/name]. It is such a beautiful name. We live in a French-English bilingual city and [name]Silvie[/name] (or [name]Sylvie[/name]) is the Francophone version of [name]Sylvia[/name].

[name]Silvie[/name], cool, silvery. I always think of the song “These are a few of my favorite things” where [name]Julie[/name] Andrews sings “[name]Wild[/name] geese that fly with the moon on their wings…”

[name]Ah[/name]… [name]Silvie[/name]. Beautiful. Her name is one of my favorite things…

Oh – [name]Silvie[/name] is just the most gorgeous name. I love it.

[name]Silvie[/name]! [name]Silvie[/name]! [name]Silvie[/name]!

Oh my. If I don’t calm down I will end up naming my baby [name]Silvie[/name].

Sorry, it turns out [name]Silvie[/name] is Czech, not French. The French use it an awful lot in my community, though… like [name]Sophia[/name] to [name]Sophia[/name], [name]Sylvia[/name] to [name]Silvie[/name].

[name]Sylvia[/name]'s the more unusual choice. I know a lot of Lydias, and only one [name]Sylvia[/name]. Plus the nickname [name]Sylvie[/name] is adorable. I don’t think it’s dated at all!

[name]Lydia[/name] is BEAUTIFUL! [name]Sylvia[/name] to me sounds like an old lady, as does [name]Sylvie[/name] (I also know of a baby [name]Sylvie[/name] who is a total grump!). Sorry!
