Like both, but think [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] sounds better with your last name.
I love both names but I voted for [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] because it doesn’t have the matchy “on” ending with your surname.
You people aren’t helping. My wife prefers [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]. I fear that it has become too faddish–and is becoming more so every day.
[name_m]Olivier[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] [name_m]Harrington[/name_m]?
[name_m]Orson[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m] [name_m]Harrington[/name_m] with the nickname [name_m]Bear[/name_m]. Very handsome.
[name_m]Orson[/name_m] no.
I think it is an awful name.
I voted for [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] but only because I didn’t like rhyming ending with [name_m]Orson[/name_m] [name_m]Harrington[/name_m] (-son, -ton). [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is popular but it’s still a classic so I don’t think it sounds trendy, if that makes sense. In my personal experience of trying out the name [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] on people, I got very positive feedback from woman and mixed to negative reactions from the guys (apparently it wasn’t cool or macho or whatever enough for most the guys I knew). My husband wasn’t a fan so we didn’t use it. But I know some [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]'s and think the name is super adorable on them. Another thing to consider with [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is that the female name of [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] is super popular right now. Not that they sound exactly alike but they are fairly similar. Something to consider.
If you want an ‘O’ name what about [name_u]Owen[/name_u] (a little rhyming at the end but not so bad)? There’s also [name_m]Otto[/name_m] (I personally love the name but it’s perhaps an acquired taste - if your wife loves [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] she probably wouldn’t go for it ). There’s also [name_u]Orion[/name_u], [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] (I do know an adult [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] and he’s a doctor so clearly a guy can succeed with this name), [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], or [name_m]Oz[/name_m]. Perhaps an ‘O’ ending like [name_u]Nico[/name_u] or [name_u]Theo[/name_u]?
[name_m]Orson[/name_m] is too [name_m]Wells[/name_m] for me. Seems like a one person name.
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] works best with [name_m]Harrington[/name_m], but sometimes naming rules can be broken. [name_m]Orson[/name_m] isn’t terrible with [name_m]Harrington[/name_m]. I would only use [name_m]Orson[/name_m] if it was incredibly special to you. On a side note, auto correct wants to change [name_m]Orson[/name_m] to or son.
