With much help for all of you, my hubby and I have narrowed our list. Our last name is [name_m]Greene[/name_m], and siblings are [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_u]Skye[/name_u], and [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. All named after beatles songs. If we go with [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], nn will be [name_u]Penny[/name_u], sweet pea. Considering penny by itself but not sure how it goes with last name. Mn [name_f]Hope[/name_f] means a lot to us. But doesn’t go with penny.
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] [name_m]Greene[/name_m]
[name_u]Penny[/name_u] [name_f]Elle[/name_f]-[name_f]Hope[/name_f] [name_m]Greene[/name_m]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] [name_m]Greene[/name_m]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] [name_m]Greene[/name_m]
[name_u]Penny[/name_u] [name_m]Greene[/name_m] sounds just fine, but yeah, doesn’t go with [name_f]Hope[/name_f]. But [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] [name_m]Greene[/name_m] is wonderful!
I like [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] [name_m]Greene[/name_m] best, though it is a little long with siblings [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_u]Skye[/name_u] and [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. If this doesn’t bother you then go for it!
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] is a bit matchy with [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_u]Jude[/name_u], making [name_u]Skye[/name_u] seem like an odd-one-out.
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] is a bit matchy with [name_u]Skye[/name_u].
[name_u]Penny[/name_u] alone could definitely work, though I don’t like the double-barrelled middle [name_f]Elle[/name_f]-[name_f]Hope[/name_f]. I think [name_u]Penny[/name_u] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] [name_m]Greene[/name_m] sounds fine to be honest.
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]! [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] [name_m]Greene[/name_m] is wonderful!
Thanks for the input. It doesn’t sound like she’s hoping for green pennies ? I know I’m crazy…lol
Thank you I think this may be it
Thank you. Congrats on your baby! U must have just found out. So exciting!
I think [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] is perfect. I was debating, thinking of how I think just [name_u]Penny[/name_u] works best with your sibset, but I like having [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] as a more formal name. You will call her [name_u]Penny[/name_u] anyway. And her whole life isn’t really centered around how perfectly her full name fits in with her siblings So that convinced me you should go with [name_f]Penelope[/name_f].
Ha. No, it sounds fab. You’re over thinking it!
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] “[name_u]Penny[/name_u]” [name_m]Greene[/name_m] is your best option —*the best of both worlds: [name_u]Penny[/name_u] fits with your kids names but she gets a lovely, classic, strong name to put in resumes and to give her versatility. [name_f]Stella[/name_f] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] are lovely names but don’t fit the Beatles theme (even though [name_m]Paul[/name_m]'s daughter is called [name_f]Stella[/name_f]; also, [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_m]Greene[/name_m] is too colorful).
other Beatles ideas
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f] “[name_u]Abbey[/name_u]”
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] “[name_f]Lizzy[/name_f]”
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Martha[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] “[name_f]Molly[/name_f]”
[name_u]Joan[/name_u]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Vera[/name_f]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_f]Stella[/name_f] are my favorites.
If you like [name_u]Penny[/name_u] the best, go with that. I love [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] personally. But [name_u]Penny[/name_u] [name_m]Greene[/name_m] doesn’t sound too bad! Not too matchy.
Like someone said, [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] is matchy with [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_u]Jude[/name_u] so [name_u]Skye[/name_u] is the odd one out. That’s what I thought too.
However, I didn’t think [name_f]Stella[/name_f] was too bad with [name_u]Skye[/name_u]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] as matchy as [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_u]Jude[/name_u] are together, so I think [name_f]Stella[/name_f] is great.
Good luck!
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] is my favorite off of your list. It is a beautiful vintage choice that isn’t getting too much attention. [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] is also wonderful. [name_f]My[/name_f] daughter has a little [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] in her pre-k class that is so shy and cute. Sorry to say that I strongly dislike [name_u]Penny[/name_u], even as a nn. It reminds me of JCPenny.
I think [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] balances with [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] like [name_u]Skye[/name_u] does with [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. But [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] [name_m]Greene[/name_m] is a bit of a ‘wordy’ name if that makes sense? and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_m]Greene[/name_m] is a bit colour heavy!
I’m not a huge fan of [name_f]Stella[/name_f], it’s too harsh sounding to me.
[name_u]Penny[/name_u] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] [name_m]Greene[/name_m] is a bit ‘wordy’ too but if her full name is [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] with nn [name_u]Penny[/name_u] I think that could work.
For those reasons I’d choose [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] [name_m]Greene[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Penny[/name_u]) from your list despite [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] being my favourite name from your list!
I like [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] [name_m]Greene[/name_m] the best. I also love [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], but I don’t love how [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_f]Hope[/name_f] both end in -ope, and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_m]Greene[/name_m] both have ‘ene’ in them.
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_m]Greene[/name_m] and [name_u]Penny[/name_u] [name_m]Greene[/name_m] have too much ee sound for me. [name_f]Stella[/name_f] gets my vote!
I feel like [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] [name_m]Greene[/name_m] is a remarkable name and I love it!
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]! I love [name_f]Stella[/name_f] way more than [name_u]Penny[/name_u], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u].
[name_f]My[/name_f] vote goes for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] name, and [name_u]Penny[/name_u] fits in lovely with your children’s names.
I’m another who agrees that [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_m]Greene[/name_m] is a bit to ‘colourful’.
Thank you so much. I love ruby but I think I do have to let it go
Thinking it will be [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
So another question how do u pronounce [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], pen l low pe, I’ve heard it pronounced pen el aw pe. I say it the second way. So is it a long o or short?
Good point, I never thought of this…gives me something to think about. Thank you
