I vastly prefer [name]Rosemarie[/name]. I know they are really similar and basically the same name, but to me, they’re totally different - and with [name]Saskia[/name], [name]Rosemarie[/name] just looks better, [name]IMO[/name]. The nickname [name]Romy[/name] is cute.
I should also add that I really love [name]Rosemarie[/name] at the moment - I have her paired with [name]Eulalia[/name] ([name]Eulalia[/name] [name]Rosemarie[/name]).
As a first name, [name]Rosemary[/name]. As a middle name [name]Rosemarie[/name].
[name]Rosemarie[/name]! I love both names, but there’s just something about [name]Rosemarie[/name] that just trumps [name]Rosemary[/name] for me.
[name]Rosemarie[/name].
[name]Rosemary[/name]=spice.
Funny that I say that-because my daughter’s name is [name]Primrose[/name]. I love [name]Rosemarie[/name] by the way.
Interesting that the comments all prefer [name]Rosemarie[/name], but [name]Rosemary[/name] is winning in the poll. I love them both, a lot. They’re both on my middle name list and I can’t decide for myself, either. I think I slightly prefer [name]Rosemarie[/name] with [name]Saskia[/name], though. I think [name]Rosemary[/name] is more old fashioned, so it seems the tiniest bit mismatched with [name]Saskia[/name], not enough to not use it, though.
I prefer the more vintage [name]Rosemary[/name] but I think the [name]Mary[/name] ending seems to turn off many non-religious people. With [name]Saskia[/name], I do think [name]Rosemarie[/name] would be the better choice. [name]Saskia[/name] [name]Rosemarie[/name] has the better flow. It may be the slight hesitation while saying the last syllable of marie that does it.
Thanks for the replies everyone!
I think it is funny that everyone has repiedsaying [name]Rosemarie[/name] goes better with [name]Saskia[/name], but [name]Rosemary[/name] is still winning in the polls.
@mischa
I prefer [name]Rosemarie[/name] for two reason. One its [name]German[/name] and I have always found [name]Marie[/name] to just be so pretty. I also dont like [name]Rosemary[/name] for the [name]Mary[/name] connection. Although I love the sound of [name]Mary[/name] I dont like the religious connection all that much. [name]Rosemary[/name] seems very traditional to me too. I think [name]Rosemarie[/name] will be added to the list. [name]Rosemarie[/name] [name]Alice[/name] is def. the combo. My mom would be thrilled with [name]Alice[/name] and I love the nn [name]Romy[/name]. [name]Saskia[/name] and [name]Rosemarie[/name], [name]Sasha[/name] and [name]Romy[/name]? It makes quite the unisex nn theme, but I’m kinda diggin it. [name]Both[/name] me and my sister have unisex names and while I would never give them as a proper fn, I like the idea of them as nn.
I prefer [name]Rosemary[/name], that is how I spell my name. [name]Saskia[/name] is fine, but not my cup of tea.
