These are some of my favorite feminine style boy names. While I’m not sure if these were all originally girl/boy names, I am calling these feminine names because I’ve mostly thought/heard of them being used for girls. I included Jamie and Laurie because those would be the names they’d mostly go by, rather than their full names.
If you have time I’d love to know why you voted for a name, how you’d rank them, overall thoughts, etc.
hi!
i’d rank them
Jesse
Jamie
Riley / Reilly
Laurie
Kelly
i like them, but honestly not my style (expect Jesse, i actually really like that one) and i don’t think they are very feminine tbh, only Kelly sounds really feminine to me
i’d also add Leslie! sounds so feminine to me but i’ve seen it on many guys
[name_u]Jesse[/name_u] is 100% male to me.
[name_u]Jamie[/name_u] and [name_u]Laurie[/name_u] are neutral but [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_u]Laurence[/name_u] are like 99% male.
[name_u]Riley[/name_u] is 100% neutral to me.
[name_u]Kelly[/name_u] mostly feels like a surname (which I suppose makes it neutral?)
[name_u]Jesse[/name_u] is my favorite by a mile, though I confess the name always reads masculine to me. [name_u]Jamie[/name_u] and [name_u]Riley[/name_u] feel truly unisex to me, while [name_u]Laurie[/name_u] and [name_u]Kelly[/name_u] read feminine. [name_u]Laurie[/name_u] was my runner up due to the [name_m]Little[/name_m] Women character.
I would rank them:
[name_u]Jesse[/name_u]
[name_u]Laurie[/name_u]
[name_u]Riley[/name_u]
[name_u]Jamie[/name_u]
[name_u]Kelly[/name_u]
ahh I was waiting for this comment…yesss that’s where I first heard the name from, and fell in love with Laurie. The 1994 version is my favorite, with 2019 being a close runner up. And yes Jesse might be my fav too, and the others are all tied for second as I can’t let any go .
Yea, I couldn’t seem to find another title for the post. They reminded me of 90s girls names in a way. I love your suggestion of [name_u]Leslie[/name_u]! It definitely fits in with the style.
