My husband and I are super hooked on the name “[name_m]Ford[/name_m]” for our boy due any day now. Our last name is “[name_m]Keys[/name_m].” [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think everyone will think of “[name_m]Ford[/name_m] [name_m]Keys[/name_m]” in automotive terms or are we over thinking this? It didn’t even occur to me until I googled the name just to check we weren’t missing something/someone obvious and images of car keys showed up!
I can see where you coming from & I’m sure some people will naturally think of that but it wouldn’t put me off using the name
I would think of cars and also the [name_f]Florida[/name_f] [name_m]Keys[/name_m] but if you really love the name and can’t think of using anything else for your son then I think you should go for it.
It would definitely put me off if I heard the name “[name_m]Ford[/name_m] [name_m]Keys[/name_m]”. It sounds like the parents were trying to make a joke, even if that’s not your intention.
It sucks to hear that a name you love isn’t the best choice, but in this case, since you know the obvious downside of this name, I wouldn’t recommend you use it. I know the “if you love it, use it” mentality is pervasive, but ask yourself: is it a name you yourself would be proud to have? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think a boy with this name will be alright with hearing it every time a teacher calls roll or being used for important events, like being called out at graduation or being printed on wedding invitations?
