I could be wrong but I thought [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] was of Latin origin. It was a common name in ancient [name_u]Rome[/name_u]
I also thought [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] and [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] were latin? Maybe I’m wrong! (from [name_f]Sebastia[/name_f] and from Lucania, literally)
I believe there were also greek forms of these names that came from the latin ones
It says [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] is from Greek origins on namberry, so that was what I followed. [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] was supposed to be [name_m]Luke[/name_m]. I deleted the wrong name.
Ah, it’s crazy how [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] have different origins! [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] means from [name_f]Sebastia[/name_f] in latin, Sebastos is the Greek variation
I noticed many names were “____ from ____” as well when I have gone through doing research. That was the first thing I thought of on seeing some of these names.
Yes, it’s a tad confusing when names have mixed origins. Since so many of these overlapped, there probably won’t be a Latin round for boys, as they would be nearly identical polls.
Love these names! I voted [name_m]Philip[/name_m] but I also love [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], [name_u]George[/name_u], [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]. [name_m]Luke[/name_m], & [name_m]Peter[/name_m]!!
Atticus and [name_u]Timothy[/name_u] are probably my favourites (I chose [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] today) but I also like [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], and [name_u]George[/name_u].
I went with [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]. I actually came across this name in a Greek text a few months ago and it really struck me how nice of a name it is.
