I apologize I keep asking this, but I decided to create a poll because I’m just hung up on if we should forgo [name_m]Simon[/name_m]. Our last name is [name_u]Baker[/name_u].
If you voted, what country are you voting from?
I voted no and I’m from the US.
I do, but it’s not a strong association even living in Australia. I really don’t think it’s an issue. [name_m]Simon[/name_m] is a wonderful, classic name.
I voted no and I’m from the US! Looked up the name to confirm I’ve never seen or heard of him. I may just be living under a rock though, who knows
No I don’t know who that is. I am from the Midwest US.
But [name_m]Simon[/name_m] and [name_u]Baker[/name_u] are pretty common so it wouldn’t be like naming your child [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] [name_m]Granger[/name_m] or something that’s much more uncommon and very tied to a character/celebrity/person.
I’m from the US
I’m from the US. I voted no, because I know the name, but couldn’t quite place it. I was fairly sure he was some kind of actor, though. Is that who you’re talking about?
United States, here! It’s a very striking name, but not one I would shy away from naming a kid. Plus, [name_m]Simon[/name_m] is so darling!
I’d just avoid using names related to the man in other places. ([name_f]Rebecca[/name_f], for example? Not a good sister name. [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]? Bad middle.)
I voted no, I’m from the US.
I voted Yes and I’m from the US.
I don’t see why you can’t use it. It is a name worthy of consideration.
No idea. I’m in the US.
I’m from the UK. Yes, I know who he is. [name_f]My[/name_f] family and I watched The Mentalist, his show, when it was running the first time and I like him in The Devil Wears Prada, but I haven’t seen him in anything new or relevant for years.
It’s not a bad association by any means and [name_m]Simon[/name_m] [name_u]Baker[/name_u] is great, such a classic, strong name.
Yes, but I’m from Australia. I think it’s fine. It would be different if you were thinking of [name_u]Harry[/name_u] and your last name was [name_m]Potter[/name_m].
I voted yes and I’m from Australia but I think it’s fine. Both names are quite common so it doesn’t sound strange.
I’m from the US. I had no idea who he is. I agree with other posters that the two names are common so I don’t think it’s a big deal.
@KJGlitter yep! That’s who I’m referring to. He seems like a great guy, never heard anything bad about him, but just concerned if it’s too strong of an association. Thank you!
I do not. I’m in the US.
No. I’m from the US.
I’m from the USA & I don’t.
