Polls, because I'm officially crazy

Yeah, still going back and forth. We thought we had decided and then we let some in person responses get into our heads. I know that is going to happen, but I was still working it out in my own head so it didn’t help the situation.
Its really just semantics because they are so close and both lovely. We also can’t see it being anything else at this point

It is either Eliora (Hope) or Elora(h) (couple of options)

  • Eliora Hope
  • Elora (see below)

They both have pros and cons and I love both.

[name_f]Eliora[/name_f]
Pros: Great meaning, pretty
Cons: [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] nickname, possibly too florid/superfluous

Elora(h)
Pros: Great meaning, easier to say(?)
Cons: Sounds like [name_f]Laura[/name_f], misspellings?

I don’t enjoy [name_f]Eliora[/name_f], it seems like too many syllables and a bit overcomplicated. Elora’s really pretty! I like [name_f]Elora[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] and [name_f]Elora[/name_f] [name_u]Haven[/name_u], but I voted for [name_f]Elora[/name_f] Hope; it’s short, sweet and spunky

While [name_f]Eliora[/name_f] is pretty, [name_f]Elora[/name_f] is my preference. Though I will say I’m a bit biased because I’ve loved that name since I was a little girl. I think all the options for Elora’s middle sound great together! But my top 3 favorites are [name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_f]Hope[/name_f] or [name_u]Haven[/name_u] :sparkling_heart: Best of luck!

[name_f]Eliora[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] is absolutely gorgeous

I voted Eliora as my favorite! I like that it sounds quite different to Laura, and probably won’t be mistaken as one. However, Elora is still very lovely, and Elora Haven is a breathtaking combo

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband is starting to lean toward [name_f]Elora[/name_f] to avoid the immediate sound of Ellie. But he still likes [name_f]Hope[/name_f] as a middle name for Elora. [name_f]My[/name_f] issue is I prefer a 2 syllable middle name with that.:expressionless:

??
[name_f]Elora[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] [name_u]Anne[/name_u]

[name_f]Elora[/name_f] [name_u]Anne[/name_u] [name_f]Hope[/name_f]

[name_f]Elora[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f]

 I love this one! I voted for Elora Hope in the poll but I think it’s super cute with a double middle too!

I voted for [name_f]Elora[/name_f] [name_f]Miriam[/name_f], but [name_f]Elora[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] also works well. [name_f]Elora[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] flows nicely, too.

Its 2 syllables. Very common, starts with A ends with N. All my kids have a total of 5 syllables in first and middle, so 7 with last name. Its literally something no one will ever know if its different with this kid except me.

[name_f]Elora[/name_f] [name_u]Haven[/name_u]
[name_f]Elora[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f]

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!

[name_f]Elora[/name_f] [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] is my favorite

I agree [name_f]Elora[/name_f] is easier to say and just kind of rolls off the tongue easily. [name_f]Eliora[/name_f] is still really pretty though. [name_f]Eliora[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] is lovely! Follow your heart because you probably do have your heart set and you should go for it.

Oh no, don’t let negative responses get you down!

[name_f]Elora[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I like both of them, but [name_f]Elora[/name_f] better! [name_f]Elora[/name_f] is sleek and clean and pretty, and while [name_f]Eliora[/name_f] is also pretty, the extra syllable seems a bit unnecessary to me. I really like [name_f]Elora[/name_f] [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] too. Probably because of the spelling differences, I don’t really connect [name_f]Elora[/name_f] and [name_f]Laura[/name_f] – although I can see why some people might, since it basically sounds like a [name_f]Laura[/name_f] if you don’t enunciate. However, I don’t think this will be much of a problem. If you like the name, go with it!

At the end of the day, a name is just a name. Your daughter is going to have a wonderful life and do great things no matter her name. It’s a tricky decision now, but someday you’ll look back and wonder how you could ever think of her as any other name! Whatever you choose will be perfect.

As always, best wishes

I love your responses and great perspective!!

Everyone assumes its just me and my idiosyncrasies, but my husband has been indecisive too.
If my husband and I could agree on a middle name we might be able to actually amend the birth certificate and move on…
