This is for a hypothetical sister for Beatrix nn Bea! We would likely use Casper for a boy. We both like each other’s favorites, we just rank them very differently or would use them in the middle spot. I’m trying to find the perfect compromise name - any suggestions? Which ones do you like below?
Lots of really great options here. I think my top choices would be [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f].
Eloise/Frances (although [name_f]Frances[/name_f] is my second choice if [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] isn’t the intended nickname)
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f]
And I voted for [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] and [name_f]Araminta[/name_f] to be added to your list. These two are possibly my favourite choices for you, although really any of these would be lovely with [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] ‘Bea’.
Oh how I wish I could have voted for more you have impeccable taste, both of you! [name_f]My[/name_f] favorites are [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], [name_f]Greta[/name_f], and [name_f]Enid[/name_f]!
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] or [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] nn [name_u]Lou[/name_u] would definitely be my top pick with [name_f]Bea[/name_f] It’s just too perfect
[name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Harriet[/name_f], [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] would all be perfect with [name_f]Bea[/name_f]! They have the same old-time charm as [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], as well as the same spunk! [name_f]My[/name_f] favorites for you though are [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], if I absolutely had to pick
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite would definitely have to be [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]! I l also love [name_f]Greta[/name_f], [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], and [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
So many gorgeous options but I particularly love the punchiness of [name_f]Greta[/name_f] with [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f].
Re. [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] nicknames, how about [name_f]Posy[/name_f] or [name_u]Pip[/name_u]? [name_u]Or[/name_u] even [name_f]Dot[/name_f] — it’s a sweet diminutive that doesn’t necessarily need to link to the full name IMO.
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f] and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] also feel like perfect sisters for [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], and I’d love to see you use [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] “Winnie” as well! Something vintage and demure on the one hand, but also with a bit of kick.
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is my favorite from your husband’s list. [name_f]Frances[/name_f] feels a smidge dowdy and I think [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is likely to get lost in a sea of Addies, though I do like it.
From your list, my favorite is [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] and I think it’s a great match with [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]. But it seems farthest from your partner’s style. [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] would be a natural compromise name (so similar to Eloise). [name_f]Bea[/name_f] and [name_u]Lou[/name_u] are pretty irresistible, too. I also love [name_f]Mabel[/name_f].
I would nix [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Dot[/name_f] since lack of full name/nickname is a pretty serious drawback. [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] is not a personal favorite of mine, but I think it works well with [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] and [name_m]Casper[/name_m] and blends your and your partner’s styles nicely.
I like [name_f]Greta[/name_f] and [name_f]Maudie[/name_f] from your final list. They feel more unexpected and help bridge the gap between [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] and [name_m]Casper[/name_m]. I’m unconvinced on any of the others in the final list, though I think you have some great middle name contenders there (like Pearl!).
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] that is somewhat helpful, and if not feel free to ignore. You have one of my very favorite babyberry names, so I’m excited to see what you choose next!
Of your husbands favorites, I like [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] the best, maybe with a nickname like, [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Elle[/name_f], or even [name_u]Lou[/name_u]
Of your favorites, I agonized over a decision before deciding that although I love all three, [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] is my favorite, followed by [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] (I am drawn to [name_u]Lou[/name_u] as a nickname again )
Of your combined nicknames, my personal favorite is [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], but if you don’t like the nicknames I would choose [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] “Hattie”.
So my top three for you guys are [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]!
