[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Berries!
I am really loving [name_f]Giselle[/name_f]/[name_f]Gisele[/name_f] (I’ve seen it spelt both ways.) I’ve only ever met one [name_f]Gisela[/name_f] while in Hamburg, Germany visiting family; but it’s not a name I’ve heard other than in Enchanted. While I am not fond of the meaning, I really like the french sound, versus the [name_m]German[/name_m] pronunciation [name_m]GEE[/name_m]-zah-lah. Which I know could be problematic if I cringe every time a relative says the name, I am kind of hoping I’d get use to it, how do you feel about [name_f]Giselle[/name_f]?
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] sodallas13, [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] is said the phonetic, [name_m]French[/name_m] way (giz-[name_f]ELLE[/name_f]), whereas [name_f]Gisele[/name_f] can be said either giz-[name_f]ELLE[/name_f] or [name_m]GEE[/name_m]-zah-lah. I love [name_f]Giselle[/name_f], I think it is very beautiful- underused and girly, sweet and sleek, with the image of glamazon [name_f]Gisele[/name_f] Bundchen or the innocent sweetness of Enchanted’s [name_f]Giselle[/name_f], all with the gracefulness of a gazelle. [name_m]Just[/name_m] explain to your relatives that the [name_m]French[/name_m] pronunciation is different, you chould be fine :).
I like [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] more than [name_f]Gisele[/name_f], it just looks right to me even though I know it is a ,white spelling.
Overall, a beautiful, elegant sounding name that doesn’t get used enough in my opinion.
I like both spellings of the name [name_f]Giselle[/name_f]/[name_f]Gisele[/name_f]. I’ve only met one primary school aged girl by the name [name_f]Gisella[/name_f]. I thought the name suited her and she was a very cute little red head.
One question… is this name pronounced with hard G (go) or soft g (g=j)? I may like it, but I would to know how it’s pronounced correctly.
