So, last week [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] was on Live with [name_u]Kelly[/name_u] and [name_m]Michael[/name_m]. She listed her siblings names and I couldn’t help but laugh. In a funny way they are “good” names because they all match each other, but so not my style!! lol
None of them are my style, but the worst ones in my opinion are [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Petal[/name_f] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] Yellow. They sound like crayon colors, not names.
Some of them sound like what 4 year olds name their dolls, but I have to admit, I think [name_f]Petal[/name_f] is adorable, and I love [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f].
Well, these names are a little too much of a good thing for my taste but she just had her own daughter named [name_f]Violet[/name_f] so she’s continuing the family flower tradition for the next generation!
I hate to be negative about peoples name choices but I really dislike [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] in general it sounds cute but in grade school Im sure she will be called poopy and as an adult it would be hard to take someone serious named [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]. [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] is pretty and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] is okay though I prefer [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] or a variation and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] as a nn. I will admit that Im surprised but I do like [name_f]Petal[/name_f] in a strange way but again it would be hard to take an adult serious with the name [name_f]Petal[/name_f].
I don’t mind the first names together (I actually think the flower theme is cute) but paired with the middles? [name_m]Way[/name_m], way too much. Seriously, they all sound like the names of [name_f]Rainbow[/name_f] [name_f]Brite[/name_f] characters or My [name_m]Little[/name_m] Ponies.
I don’t totally mind sib-sets that match. Like [name_f]Poppy[/name_f],[name_f]Rosie[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] would be fine. I wouldn’t do it…but overall its kind of sweet. However, what gets me…its a bit matchy with the middle names. Like choosing [name_f]Petal[/name_f] with a flower name or choosing [name_m]Thorn[/name_m] will a flower name. [name_m]Even[/name_m] [name_f]Sun[/name_f] is a bit matchy with [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] because [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]'s look sunny. It’s a bit much you know.
I think they are cheerful (except for [name_m]Jethro[/name_m] [name_m]Tull[/name_m] - oh my goodness). All the first names are fine and any adult could get through life with them. As for the middles they are tucked away so it doesn’t affect them really. It obviously hasn’t affected [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]! I think they are charming, lighthearted and just a bit of fun
Firstly, can I just say I love [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m], and I am so beyond excited that Unforgettable is back? :]
Besides that, meh. I have heard flower sibsets before. I don’t think her sisters (or siblings) are worse than [name_u]Jamie[/name_u] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]'s. I think having to live with ALL of [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]'s name would be worse than having such a themey sibset ([name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Petal[/name_f] [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_m]Deveraux[/name_m] [name_m]Donahue[/name_m] [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m]! Talk about fitting a name on a form!). [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_m]Prince[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] doesn’t even have that many names, lol!
These names are not my style, but in a weird way I like [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]… lol
I do agree these sound like They should be characters on [name_f]Rainbow[/name_f] [name_u]Bright[/name_u] or better yet, [name_f]Strawberry[/name_f] Shortcake. lol
I do love [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] Mongomery and she has definitely done well for herself, despite her “childish” name. I’m of course a fan of her daughters name, since I too am a [name_f]Violet[/name_f].
If I were to make up a cautionary tale about why it is bad to give moms complete control over girl names and dads complete control over boy names, these names would appear in that story…[name_m]Jethro[/name_m] [name_m]Tull[/name_m] looks like payback!
[name_m]Jethro[/name_m] [name_m]Tull[/name_m]! Lol!
I sort of love them, but there is no denying that they are completely bonkers. I have a total image of the parents as old-school hippies and i can tell that the names were all lovingly chosen, which i can’t help but love, although they tell me more about the parents than the wearers of the name. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though collectively they seem a bit nuts, if i met a [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] or [name_f]Lily[/name_f] or [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] etc, i’d find it totally normal. I’m not a big fan of themes but i do like the idea of having something that links you with siblings.
They are all pretty by themselves but I don’t think its a problem [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] are popular here in Australia. [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]'s 79, [name_f]Lily[/name_f]'s 13, [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]'s 134 and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]'s 319 but [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is 66. The full names are bad but you don’t go up to someone and say “I’m [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] Yellow” you just say your first name.
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] is the lucky on in that family. There can be too much of a good thing although, regardless of what we think, it couldn’t bother [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] too much if she named her daughter [name_f]Violet[/name_f].
The girls’ first names are TOLERABLE at best as a combo. Had it been one or MAYBE two of those names I wouldn’t think anything of it. Can’t stand [name_m]Jethro[/name_m] or any of the middles names. Sounds like mom and dad spent a little too much time being Dead Heads.
