Okay, so this is a major guilty pleasure for me (though, I have [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] on my list, so I guess it isn’t too much more of a stretch). What do you think of the name [name_m]Poseidon[/name_m]? What middle names would you pair it with? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it is usable?
I also have [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] on my list. Would a [name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] and a [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] be too much “P”?
I think [name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] is too much for a people name (and yes with [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] it is too much b/c of the double P, as well as double Greek Myth)- we did name our cat [name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] though, cause it is pretty awesome.
I found a [name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] today when going through birth announcements so it is being used. I think you have to be very bold to use it, but if you love it, why not? I’ve seen much worse.
Not a fan, sorry. [name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] is one of those names that comes with expectations ([name_m]Zeus[/name_m], [name_m]Jesus[/name_m], [name_m]Moses[/name_m], [name_m]Hercules[/name_m]…etc). It’s unique, but almost in a bad way. Plus that is a mouthful and a half for everyday use.
[name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] is too much name for me. It’s not usable in my opinion. [name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] as siblings would be over the top. I would keep it on the guilty pleasure list.
If I were you, I would pick one major deity and only one in the front. I don’t think have [name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] as siblings would be the best idea. I do think both names are usable if you’re the type of person who’s brave enough to use them.
[name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] has a very strong image, very strong mythology. He also has the cute nickname [name_u]Poe[/name_u] or [name_u]Si[/name_u] (like eye) or [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] or [name_m]Don[/name_m]… He’s got a lot of normal, usable nicknames too for when he’s younger and [name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] seems heaviest.
Besides, we have a government official here in Little Rock named Aquila and you’d think that wouldn’t work too well.
I think [name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] is usable- very bold and surprising in a good way. If I met a [name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] I would like it. But with [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] (if they’re both first names) it would be way too themey. Maaaaybe if one was a first and one was a middle it could work, but it depends on the full names.
I guess you guys are right. If I were to drop one of them, [name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] would have to be it. I also have [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] on my list. Would [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] and [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] be too much?
Chances are, I will be having more than two children, and I do think if I had a [name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] and a [name_f]Persephone[/name_f], I feel the pressure to use another “P” name from Greek mythology!
I think [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] and [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] aren’t good together either. They both have dark mythology. [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] was abducted to the underworld and all that, [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] was created solely as a punishment on one man and unleashed evil onto mankind (to punish that one man). So I think that’s a bit too much dark Greek mythology there.
Also, if [name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] makes you want to do a theme, then [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] would also be two P Greek myth names.
Too much, for sure. Could be a very cool and interesting middle name though! I don’t think [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] are too much together. The greek mythology won’t be obvious to a non name nerd.
3 kids with the middle names [name_f]Persephone[/name_f], [name_m]Poseidon[/name_m], and [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] would be sorta cool.
3 kids with those first names…would be way too much.
2 kids with those first names would be too much.
Honestly, even [name_m]Poseidon[/name_m] on it’s own I feel is too out there, mainly because it really doesn’t have any nice accessible nn’s to make it feel modern.
But then I went to college with a guy named [name_m]Thor[/name_m] so I guess anything’s possible if you’ve got enough nerve.
