What are your thoughts on this name? I don’t think I’d ever use it, maybe as a nn for [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], or [name_f]Persephone[/name_f]. But what do think of it as a first, middle name or nn?

I like it as a nickname or a middle, but for some reason I’m not keen on the -ie spelling for a first name. It’s just a bit too cutesy.
[name_f]Posy[/name_f] or [name_f]Posey[/name_f] are lovely for a first, though. I know that’s weirdly specific!

I like it and can definitely see it as a mn or nn. The only way I can see it as a fn is if there is a more traditional mn paired with it.

It makes me think of the “pocket full of posies” line from “[name_m]Ring[/name_m] Around the [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]”, which is a reference to herbs people carried around to mask the smell of the plague. It has a cute sound but I’ll never be able to get over that reference.

All I can think about when I see/hear [name_f]Posie[/name_f] is the ship name between [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_u]Park[/name_u] and [name_u]Josie[/name_u] Saltzman from the TV show Legacies.
I think it’s cute! I prefer [name_f]Posy[/name_f], or even [name_f]Posey[/name_f] spellings though. I think it works as a first, middle, or nickname.

I actually prefer this spelling to [name_f]Posey[/name_f]! I wouldn’t use it myself, mostly because it’s nms and I have other nicknames I prefer for both [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] ([name_u]Josie[/name_u], [name_u]Joey[/name_u]) and [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] (Seph, Sephi, Perci) but it’s totally usable in either spelling. Nothing objectively wrong with it as a nickname that I can see, especially with the elegant longer forms you’ve picked out

I’m another who can’t get past this reference either and I personally could never do it, especially if they were born during the covid pandemic…
For [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], I love [name_u]Josie[/name_u] as a nickname and I’d go with [name_u]Percy[/name_u] for [name_f]Persephone[/name_f]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] my preferences
